Hmm choices not botherd aslong as it does its job hey.
Hmm choices not botherd aslong as it does its job hey.
depends on how much bhp your putting in and what you wanna use it for lol
I might go quaife i might not even get one. Sounds silly but just in two minds.
my mate use to have a quaiffe torque biasing diff in his 500 hp fiesta and it was still a nightmare to get off the line used to use 3 lanes of the motorway if you gave it stick from standstill upto 120mph then it was fine and he was running 215x 17 track tyres on it but you can have diff with different amount of lock up you may find they could make it a bit tighter if you needed it to be.
Am I correct in saying that the way you find out if you have an LSD is to jack it up and turn one of the wheels and the other should go in the opposite ( or maybe same !!) direction ????

I have a pratically new quaiffe QDF12J LSD for sale, suitable for installation in a M56 gearbox. I wouldn't touch the gearboxman with a barge pole. If you want a new one - you can buy direct from quaiffe. http://www.quaife.co.uk/shop/products/qdf12j
I have a Gripper diff! It is a better piece of kit than the quaiffe by a country mile and has been confirmed by those who have quaiffe's! However Gripper was bought by another company and they are no longer the same! they are now very noisy and not suitable for every day road use and will drive you nuts in car parks! If your car is going to be a daily driver then the quaiffe is the one to have you will never it is in there and is totally silent!
I have a Gripper in mine too, dunno about the noise yet, not driven it, but I know it doesn't like being pushed around corners!
Your's is the same as mine Paul! You wil need to add friction modifier to try and quiten it down! How many times has it been back to Gripper for the re-working?
im thinking of putting a quaffe or a sensiortrac from america but havent made my mind up yet.but mine runs a degoverned g80 locker anyway.

Just to add some balance - my Gripper is pretty quiet. It groans on full lock under load but doesn't bang or cause hassle in car parks. Mine went back to Dave Mac twice I think and others do report noise while some are dead quiet. I have never driven a Quaifed car but chose a plate diff as it will resist being open more than an atb. I would give serious consideration to a Quaife in light of the issues some folk have but I love my Gripper.
Did you not hear? The Gearboxman - took so long on getting my parts back to me on the 3rd attempt to get it right - that I bought another LSD to speed up the repair (not done by them). I am very happy with the box as it stands. Already done Oulton Park last November & everything is sweet as a nut. All I am saying is that I would be wary using CTS for anything more complex than a loo stop.
Didn't realize you bought another one. Mind you saying all the hassle you were having with said company. Did they take responsibly in the end ? Been away for so long, trying to get back into the forum and help out where i can, had the c70 running other day in driveway, sweet as a nut, must of burnt about £10 of v-power over and hour of idle lol. Forgot how loud it is
I have never driven a gripper car - so I am not in a position to say. The ATB is awesome round the track. I don't use it that much OTR - not much call for it, save the odd round about on the A5. The car does not grip too good when it is wet - the ATB just spins up both front wheels in 2nd. Roll on the warmer weather.

I will not divulge too much as I do not wish to prejudice the legal process, but despite my numerous efforts to find a amicable agreement - they just ignored me.

I do wish i had went to Glasgow uni and trained to be a lawyer. Have you drove any me7 t5's with the standard autotech remap. Priced it with Nat and if get enough wanting to do at same time. I miss my remap that Volvo took away all they years ago :(
Can't fault any of the mapping work done to date on mine. So if the custom mapping is anything to go by. Anyway if anyone wants to buy the almost new quaiffe then let me know.
