I like the CF wrapped side trims.......thinking of doing this on my silver V70. Dod you take the trim pieces off to wrap? If so, how do they come off?

Post 456842 by Peanut1 on 2012-01-30 18:31:12

mate, if you take em off you will have a mare putting them back on as their seriously stuck on! think you would end up doing em in situ!

Post 456846 by Dan850r on 2012-01-30 18:35:45

There not to bad, pop it off at the front and they slide back leaving the clips on the door, of vice versa, ill go have a look!

Post 456851 by Dan850r on 2012-01-30 18:39:47

There's a rubber plug in the back of the door and it's got a torx screw in but use a magnet as they are a pain if u drop them and then they slide forward the wing ones pop off just open the doors slightly for the door trims to slide them forward. I took mine off to do them as will be a pain if you try to wrap them on the car.

Got some new shocks/dampers and some h&r springs and new top mounts for the rear and new spring top mounts for front struts. Getting those nivomats off the rear at long last. Did start it today but with disc in back is gone takes it toll on me and had to give up I'll wait till another day when it's not so cold and when I'm up to it plus think I'll wait till the missus is off at a weekend to give me a hand. Soldered the abs ecu this morning when I had a night when I couldn't sleep so 4-30 am soldering and fitted back on and seems to work fine now. Took recirculating valve off to find that the seal had twisted inside out so made a plate and blanked it off as had some 5mm alloy plate in the garage.

Really nice look car, subtle mods :)

Post 468449 by endo-t5 on 2012-02-29 21:55:38

Thanks guys I'm happy with it now but I would of liked it a little lower but it handles well now and the suspension is so much better than the Nivomats that was on the rear. think I need to do a new list as think poly bushes, 302 brakes, remap, maybe a bigger turbo when funds allow.

Finally got new cv fitted today. Had to take hub off and mount in the vice and hit the cv joint for 20 minutes before it would move even soaked in oil for 2 hours but brand new cv joint fitted now. Going to fit new one to other side so more swearing to come.

Changed the alloys to another set of 18's. black Ronals Image Also fitted poly bust to top engine mount as only had it for 12 months and fitted the subframe inserts and also put new steering rack on which took a while but nice and light now. Just need to do some more poly bushing and get a new clutch but not sure what clutch is best or where to get it from.

Post 588048 by nottsgreent5 on 2013-03-24 09:27:27

Marshalls in notts do genuine 850R clutch kits for around 200 quid which i thought was cheap compared to ebay and most auto factors

Had a few issues as of late as 15g turbo decided to start smoking so swapped in a second hand 16t turbo which was a big mistake as it lasted about two weeks and then started to smoke and then fill the intercooler and pipework with metal so that was fun. So big strip down began and fitted a brand new 16t turbo with angle flange and cleaned out all the intercooler, inlet manifold and all pipework and made a 3 inch downpipe and mated to the 3 inch exhaust I made the other month. 3 inch dp Image The parts used for dp Image New turbo Image And fitted Image Also moved the horns and removed the air con radiator as its not used

Post 636161 by t5 pete on 2013-08-16 22:51:38

Nice update how you finding it with the new turbo

Post 636168 by endo-t5 on 2013-08-16 22:59:34

It's pulling much better now and sounds completely different and taking it easy at moment as not had great luck lately. Need to get a remap as got a few mods done now and have some injectors to fit too.
