a good quality Dot 4 will do (dot 5.1 as a performance upgrade, I believe) I used 4L to fully flush but you don't need that much to do a quick job. Start by bleeding the rear o/s then rear n/s then front n/s and finally front o/s and clutch. (I think that's the right order - how I did mine any-hoo) good luck ;)
I just done my whole brake system with ate super blue dot4. Would highly recommend this fluid. If you pump out all your old fluid, catch it in bottles then put new stuff in. It comes out blue so u can tell when u are getting old fluid out. When you bleed tube is all blue u can empty it back into the can and reuse it. I done this for all 4 calipers and only used about 600ml of fluid see http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ATE-Super-Blue-Racing-Brake-Fluid-DOT-4-1-Litre-/260956963977?pt=UK_Car_Accessories_Car_Care_Cleaning&hash=item3cc23f4489
Good quality, thats the right question. Which one is it?

Use the blue stuff, i included the ebay link. 19 quid delivered and like i say u wont even use the whole litre. If you are careful. The quality is very high for the price, the dry and wet boiling points are above average for price range. Good all rounder i say
My 5.1 fluid was tested the other day - still got a boiling point of 198 degrees C. Not bad after 5 years of abuse.

I was more concerned about using as little as possible hence reason i went for blue stuff. Also is that dry or wet point it was tested at ?
Got the blue stuff. Thanx
I dunno wee man - Hamish put it in when I had the brakelines upgraded to Goodridge.

Yeah i put front goodridge lines on. Back one's look like a b**ch so going to wait when do springs and lower the axle. They look nearly impossible to get into without dropping it

Yeah i will let u know. Brembo Max grooved already on, EBC yellow stuff going on tonight, fluid as soon as it arrives. Hopefully this kit will stop me any time i want.
Post in a bit on how you find the Yellows could you? Only ever heard good things (same with Blue NDX), but i'm sceptical considering the §§§§e EBC have been selling for years...
TBH I have never heard good reviews of EBC red/pink/blue/purple -stuff for Volvo.
yeah was there not another thread on yellow stuff pads and people were def not recommending them
Ill definitely give them a very good test and you will get my feedback. Hopefully blue brake fluid will arrive 2morrow so ill give my brakes good flush and brakes will be ready for proper test.
I use 5.1 synthetic. Its silicone based and hygroscopic so can be replaced every 5 years. Its the best stuff to use.
Ive had yellw stuff for while with new ATE blue fluid and i must say that braking improved a lot.
