Round trip? - near enough double that for me!
Duxford is excellent though, well worth a visit.

Car clubs, with enough interest can normally park inside on the airfield, and be charged per car entry, last time I did this it was £10 per car.. bargain!

A cracking venue and only 15 minutes from me, might well come along but I need to check if were racing.
On the subject of racing, perhaps we should get a meet together at one of our race meetings later in the summer, good location at St Neots right on the A1.
Post 467803 by M-R-P on 2012-02-27 22:29:53
This is great, I'll contact the people at Duxford and find out some more info regarding discounted tickets and parking etc.
Post 467807 by dalhousie2008 on 2012-02-27 22:31:29
I am tempted, been there many times having grown up in Hertfordshire and went to Ruskin uni in Cambridge hmmmm, wife's never been there plus they have the prototype Concorde there, slightly smaller than the production one.

Very near to where i used to live, and lovejoy was actually filmed in the area, his 'workshop' was a cottage in my old village for a series, used to see the moggy soft top every morning en route to filming.

Yesterday evening, I had a call from a nice lady named Vickie, regarding our interest in visiting Duxford. To be allotted parking on the airfield, we would need to bring a minimum of 50 cars so that's out. We'll just have to claim a corner of the normal car park as we normally do at pubs etc.
Vickie also mentioned their Spring and Summer car shows where we could turn up as a club and be allotted our own section of the show. The spring one is on May the 6th which is too short notice IMO. The Summer show is on Sunday August the 5th. I don't know How interested everybody would be in showing - off here, as a club, there's no racing, camping or BBQs allowed but it could be good publicity for the club?
Just a thought ;)
