M59 Box

I will be changing my gearbox for a m56 i have lying around. So will have my m59 going spare, i rather have someone fit the m56 box on the car and take the m59 for free.
Or i can have the new box fitted and sell old box.
Only changing as last owner said there was a crunch in 4th, but not really noticed yet, clutch is a little high, but ill drive it around for a few weeks and see how it is before changing and advise potential fitters / buyers.

why?
Post 485434 by dalhousie2008 on 2012-04-12 18:42:17
if 4th is crunching / worn then ill change box, just thought someone could make use of it

A friend of mine also has a 4 speed 850R as the m59 in his has recently decided it doesnt like 4th gear anymore ... Swapping it out in a few weeks for a m56 with Quaife :)

yeah mate shorter gearing makes for more rapid acceleration at the sake of top end, i believe the fastest 850 on the forum is running this mod shhh its a secret btw

Don't know why, But I'd rather the higher top end from an 'H'.
I have (and I'm damned sure I'm not the only one) traction issues anyway. For the odd time I might find myself at Brunters, I'd just wanna see what she'll do.

Ahh I see Frankie didn't know that, I had a Quaife put in my m56 in my t5r after a long debate about whether to go gripper or Quaife, heard of a few horror stories locally with the plate type grippers, and a couple of friends run ATB quaifes in their 850's with a completely maintenance and problem free life so far, and they can turn in car parks without hurrendous scrubbing. So went Quaife :)
