Should we have a swapz section for user? I have several cars, none of which i would sell but would consider swapping. What are your views? Is this the correct place to put this?

Good idea. It'll stop all the 'Would you be interested in a swap with...' questions when your trying to sell something.

seems like a good idea, i know i'd rather let my car go to an enthusiast as opposed to joe public

What next? Do mods add new forum? Or should we just extend or make new swap thread

Would it be appropriate to have a swaps forum? Thinking about this: 1. Generally those looking to change cars will sell or part exchange 2. It is very rare two cars of equal value will come up so money will probably exchange hands anyway 3. Swapping a car is surely the same as selling a car but your receiving goods as payment instead of cash or services. The same from a wanted perspective you offering goods in payment for something you want. I'll pop a poll on this thread :-)

I dont think having it would hurt TBH

I think a designated swap forum would be beneficial, as one would know exactly where to look for swaps instead of reading through the for sale ads. I don't think equal value necessarily makes much difference I.e myself I need an estate instead of a saloon and could always add money to a swap. I think people themselves would hash out a deal in private once a potential swap could be established. I have several Volvos, which I would never sell but may swap I.e for a different colour etc
Isn't that all part of the bartering/negotiation process? :-)
Not for me personally. If I did want to consider a swap, I would say in the ad. And the OP said he had cars he would consider swapping, But that doesn't mean you exclude parts, DVD players for a set of blue injectors etc. :D

How about, instead of a full on forum for it, there can be a pre-title. Like you can add in SWAP before the users selected title? Edit: Like this thread has Poll: at the start, how about a check box to put in Swap:

That'd work :)

The idea sounds good, but as already mentioned users would have to be honest.

Does this mean we are getting a swaps forum, judging by the voting?

Swapping is fine but then emotions get involved and someone ends up getting hurt!

This can only lead to trouble i reckon, when new owners find fault with their car or if a new problem arises with it and feels he hasn't been given an honest description of it.
