What polisher do you have? Any pad pref?

Post 490250 by graemewelch on 2012-04-23 16:57:53

rotary polisher, unsure of make. paid £20 for it from netto about 7 year ago. menzerna 203 compound with a orange lake country ht pad. sent a lot of pics and email back and forth to polishedbliss and thats what they recomended i use. do a small test on my bonnet. masked a square of about 18" and got to say its racking gear. breaks down nice and easy and leaves it pin sharp. seems to make the stone chips stand out even more

Im pretty sure that Turkish's stage 2, S60 T5 (2.4) made a little under 350hp... im trying to find the thread on this.

Post 490254 by graemewelch on 2012-04-23 17:05:28
Im pretty sure that Turkish's stage 2, S60 T5 (2.4) made a little under 350hp... im trying to find the thread on this.
it made 348 bhp not sure of torque. he removed the stage two when i bought it off him. i had stage 2 on from rica for a while but the ppc unit has gone haywire so i thougt time to try somthing new.

Interesting that I arrived independantly at a very similar conclusion. Lake Country/ Menzerna IP. I tend to use the Yellow pad. Depending on colour I can recommend the poorboys glazes.

Post 490293 by graemewelch on 2012-04-23 17:48:53

got some poorboys black hole glaze. very impressed with it. decieded to try all of the blackfire range on this one. hope its worth it, its cost me a fortune

Post 490302 by Wobbly Dave on 2012-04-23 18:13:10

I used the PB Black Hole on our royal blue S40. I really rate it. I hear great things about the BF range on dark colours. I hope all goes well.

Post 701606 by graemewelch on 2014-04-07 16:46:05

bit of a update cause im board. car has changed a bit since last update. now on nebs. leather has been refurbed. calipers are going to be powder coated soon. engine is going to shimmed and port and flowed cylinder head fitted. Image maybe a few other little mods to fit to.

Post 701631 by ROZER on 2014-04-07 19:03:16

good idea getting the head ported and flowed but what's the logic behind shimming.?

Post 701636 by ExternalError on 2014-04-07 19:09:44

Shimming reduces the expansion gap of the liners which have been known to split when running higher boost. Normally its the S60R 2.5 litre engine that is more likely but it has been know to happen on the T5's 2.4 litre engine so if your porting and flowing the head you may as well do it while the head is off.

sounds like a good idea then for future big turbo upgrades.
sounds like a good idea then for future big turbo upgrades.
well you never no what is aroud the corner when it comes to modifications
well you never no what is aroud the corner when it comes to modifications
yes I agree wise move. just flowing the head and some porting will help.
