Hi chaps,
this is a vid from my 940 turbo taken last year.
mods at the time were.
V cam from a B230E
TD04 15G @ 17psi
3" side exit exhaust
TLAO ignition chip
my own fuel map with an ostrich 2.0
plus the car has been on a diet and weighs 1250kg
the vid is a bit long so if you want to get to the WOT stuff skip to 5:20
car has a GT30/82 on it now and will be getting some attention this weekend as it has just come out of hibernation and has a fresh ticket for the year.

Welcome...
Thats one hell of a shifter, just goes to show what a old 940 can do.
Smithy has a good old 136bhp 940 too with a twist and Rockheadrumble is in the process of going BIG garret on his 940 too.
Ill watch with keen interest on this one!

Thanks for the kind words chaps :)
I didn't do the 1/4 in it as have an open diff and had §§§§ tyres on at the time so getting off the line was pretty tough. Still got an open diff but its a 4.1 now instead of the 3.54 it had in but has Yoko A048's on the back now for a bit of extra traction. The GT30/82 spool isn't to bad as it makes boost by 3500 will be taking it out tomorrow to do some mapping and shaking it down. Will take some pics of it tomorrow in its propper trim.
Here is a pic so you can see what she looks like, the back is that high because I had to put stock springs on for mot.

What drop do you have on it then? Does it fail the mot when lowered?

I cut the springs as I'm a cheap ass so when the suspension is at full droop the springs come out of the cups on the rear. I don't think a lowering kit would do me any good as the car is 250kg lighter than stock.

LOL, fair enough buddy.
Thinkin of gettin the lowering springs for mine as the current ones are all over the place and some new shocks as they are shot too.

Sweet, all I've done to mine is turned the boost up and mine also spins a wheel really easy, a locker is very high on my list although the list is getting longer and my doc still wont let me go to work. lol

The Force is strong in the 940 world atm. Looks like I've got a bit of competition in the estate class too!

Looks cool! I've always hankered after a mental 760 turbo or somethin for fun.
You bringing it to York for the 1/4 comps? It'll do well me thinks.

Mines no competition, i'm only aiming at 250bhp from this engine plus i have to keep the interior.
I noticed last night my clutch is now slipping a bit if your hard on the gas when you go from 4th to 5th, so my next purchase will have to be the flywheel and 850r clutch, no extra power until i've saved up for that. :(

3 words...
Rear... Wheel .... Drive! :B_steerin
Even with 250 bet you'll give anything else FWD a run for it's money on the 1/4

Thats about all mine is making at the moment, new wideband has arrived (mine took a crap the day my car passed mot) so will be doing some tuning later this week and hopefully edging it up to 300ish.

Decent tyres and slipper allowing anyway, my 24v Cortina used to spin up at 70mph if the road wasn't bone dry, got beaten off the line once by a turbo rover coupe because i couldn't get traction and he could, caught him up eventually but only just.

That's quite surprising.
With a good hookup I can get full power down in the dry in 1st, 2nd and 3rd :)

Decent tyres probably as well as more modern suspension.
My Cortina weighed 1100kgs and had 220bhp with a pronounced power step at 3200rpm as the engine came alive. I wanted to keep mine on the 13" rims so it was decidedly under tyred and was not helped by a large dollop of torque arriving hafl way through the rev range.
At the time it was built the2.9 24v Cosworth BOA V6 produced the most torque any sub 3 litre road N/A engine had achieved so it went like §§§§ of a stick whatever gear you were in. :S
On a bone dry road if you were cruising in second and pushed your foot on the throttle (not slammed it down, just pressed it) it would spin the wheels. :D
Had it going sideways at 70mph more than once, I was chasing an M3 when it did it once, I'm not sure the cars we overtook were impressed by the niose and tyre smoke. ;)
I have mates with the same problem with various cars as the "old school" guys often don't want big rims on the cars.

I had all sorts of issues with smoking tyres on my 15g setup. §§§§ tyres and an open diff didn't help much. I would quite often get one tyre loosing traction in 3rd if the road was a bit un even. I now have yoko A048's on the back and my torque doesn't arrive till much later (about 3800 v 2500) with the gt30/82 so tyre slip on a roll isn't an issue now. But getting off the line is a right pain now lol.
