hello everyone. is the standard bov on the turbo housing? im going to fit a bailey dv26 and think i need to blank off the original one. im also thinking of fitting a manual boost controller but not sure how far i can go before the fuel cut kicks in. thanks for any help. the car is a c70 t5 on a 98

Is it ME7? (I think 98 is pre ME7) If it is (no throttle cable) then MBC won't give you much, if any increase. As for the BOV (recirc in this cace) yes, it's on the turbo - 3 10mm bolts holding it on.

it isnt an me7. i was hoping to get the boost closer to 1 bar, it runs at 0,5/0.6 bar now.

Post 496062 by T5frankie on 2012-05-08 18:51:04

you should be able to run 1 bar with a boost controller on a standard ecu, if you cant something else is wrong, get a hlm remap for £150 then it will run 1.1 bar, stick an mbc on after for 1.3 bar (good times) lol

Post 496069 by bones717lee on 2012-05-08 18:58:25

sounds good. i will get a remap when i can afford it (just spent a fortune getting it through an mot) do you think it will run 1 bar without the fuel cut kicking in?

Post 496073 by bones717lee on 2012-05-08 19:04:38

hlm are a bit far away from me, im up north.

Hlm can do the ecu upgrade by post they send you one and you send yours back, i think. give em a call. they dont bite!!

that sounds good and a good price too, will look into it. thanks

my 1998 S reg T5 is an ME7... so youll need to make sure what engine version it is first :)
not what he says. Is it ME7? (I think 98 is pre ME7) his car is a 98
Read the rest of the post mate...
Is it ME7? Put an MBC on a ME7 engine and it'll throw a hissy-fit AFAIK - from what I've read about MY engine, ME7 don't like MBCs without a remap and even then you're pushing you're luck. That's what I know, or think I know. Obviously, I don't have the experience of some members.

In that case, blank the recirc, fit the baily and throw a MBC on it and enjoy :D

I understand where Bones is coming from as my `97 V70 would not respond to the MBC i had, there was nowt wrong with it as i had it fitted on other motors, but the boost was only between 5 & 9 would not even reach 10psi. My HLM304 was by post and i bought a new TCV instead of using the MBC now i am a solid 18psi Map was £262 then £100 refunded upon return of old ECU. £12 was postage one way of course.
