Hi everyone, Split my engine and gearbox today to find I think I have a dual mass flywheel. I have an internal slave cylinder. My question is this, can I fit a single mass flywheel with a 850r clutch and still use my internal slave cylinder ? Rob

You'll be able to tell if its dual mass by looking at the friction plate, if there are no springs in it then its a dual mass. Can't really help with the swap, but Frankie did it on his, not sure if he has the internal slave cylinder.

The 850's don't Pete, it was introduced in the x70 range (not straight away though) to reduce clutch judder and make the pedal lighter.

LOL, I get it now. Good point, might have been changed to a newer gearbox (and engine possibly?).
Does it look like this Image
Mine looks like this Image The friction plate has no springs in it. Over the last week after my cambelt jumped I discovered that someone in the past has replaced the orginal engine/box for a early V70 engine/box.

My dual mass is different, but I suppose its an earlier (crappier) design.
