Heres some pics and a little Vid :) (Ps i bought the car like this i havnt done anything to it apart from service and clutch) http://s131.photobucket.com/albums/p318/r881aom/?action=view¤t=CaseyChappell.mp4 Image Image Image

Post 515236 by M-R-P on 2012-06-22 07:28:15

Oh look, a P2 with the bonnet up (nowt new there lol) That exhaust doesn't look standard...

Post 515240 by caseyt5 on 2012-06-22 07:58:20

It's a straight through exhaust system from the turbo down i bought it thinking it was standard (i know that sounds stupid :) but its really quiet in the car and on idle)

Post 515244 by M-R-P on 2012-06-22 08:07:31

That's good to know. I've been looking at exhausts (along with lots of other things I can't afford) and the one thing that puts me off is the fear of droning on long drives. I'm just after a bit more of a burble. Nice looking car BTW

When I get chance to run those pegs down to you I'll take ya out in mine so you can hear it Mr P

Post 515252 by M-R-P on 2012-06-22 08:51:42

That's what I'm after but it's just pipe dreams at the moment (get it "pipe" dream lol) as I'll be paying for that bloody clutch till doomsday! The chav next door keeps bringing back boxes round for me to look at, with the hope I'll buy one off him. Unfortunately, they all seem to come off cars with 2" pipes or smaller. Hopefully, he'll come up with something soon lol,
When I get chance to run those pegs down to you I'll take ya out in mine so you can hear it Mr P
cool :D

Lol

I'm not sure what system it is you cant even really here it in the car on full throttle, theres like a nice rumble when the turbo comes in and you lift off but thats it, Did the Video link work? :)

Post 515278 by M-R-P on 2012-06-22 09:20:26

Sounds damn fine for an oil burner. I keep toying with the idea if taking the backbox off mine and "adjusting" the baffles but I never have the courage lol.

Post 515284 by stephenevans99 on 2012-06-22 09:22:48

Only the cosmetic stuff....and a bit of wrapping. Having my wheels refurbed very shortly and then a remap afterwards. Any idea as to what remap yours has?
Sounds damn fine for an oil burner.
Can't beat the sound of a 5 pot :) (T5 Sounds better), I'd really like to know what map its running and bhp it pulls non stop to just under 5000 and doesnt stop pulling until it hits the govenor. Would love an S60R thats next on my list but insurance is £2900 Fully comp with me and the mrs me on my own is near £4000 :eye-poppi

Sounds like it certainly shifts. Just be wary of the intercooler on these as they have a tendency to blow.

Post 515323 by caseyt5 on 2012-06-22 10:15:24

I know :( mine hasnt started bowing yet but no doubt it will lol, is there any companys that offer uprated ones for the S60 d5? or maybe from another model that are classed as an upgrade?

Post 515335 by stephenevans99 on 2012-06-22 10:38:26

You could go down the route of fitting a fmic which I believe involves slight relocation of the ac condensor and radiator or there are companies like Radtec who will make you a direct replacement....I suppose it all comes down to ££$$'s.

Post 515394 by stephenevans99 on 2012-06-22 15:09:39

Not too sure about a smaller intercooler, I'm certain the shifty member they call Pedro can answer that question !!

Post 515399 by M-R-P on 2012-06-22 15:34:30

What about a 3" core front mount, I've seen them on fleabay, about 3' long and 10" high. sit nicely in the lower grille... ;)

Post 515483 by dalhousie2008 on 2012-06-22 18:49:00

i pay about £400 on the t5r or 850r. Moving to waterlooville dropped our insurance a bit

Post 515512 by Wally Dog on 2012-06-22 19:24:30

A lot of it is the value of the vehicle - your S60's book value is higher than theat of the 850, so if you crash and write it off, the 850 will cost them less to replace.
