36 quid in rattle cans (apart from the stuff i use for the silver flek, that stuff costs a bomb - but I get it free).
Get good with masking tape too lol.

when i seen the pics of them sprayed in the yellow primer i cringed worrying they were staying that colour, then thought its still got to look better than having them gay blue ;)

They do look good, hopefully you'll still have them on the car Sunday.....second thoughts don't give them back full stop lol
Post 522058 by M-R-P on 2012-07-09 16:24:12
I know what you mean mate, I REALLY like them lol.
To be fair, they are a good set of pegs and Sharkey did pay up front for the paint so he'll probably have an interest in getting them back lol.
I'll txt him later and ask if he minds me taking them to hillingdon. Fingers crossed.

Bloody good Job martin, although it must be said I think that colour is too dark for a white car.

Interested in what make of rattle can you used and where you get them from? Very impressive results.
Many thanks

I quite like them just primed, orange Pegs would be cool. ;)
Looking good though. :B_thumb:
Post 522186 by Wally Dog on 2012-07-09 21:21:00
Lookin good matey, like the paint job but to be honest, I don't think they're the right wheel for a 4x4 or a V70 - of which yours is clearly both!! (but then again, I put Amaltheas on mine so who am I to judge!!)
Feckin good value tho for a refurb and I bet they sparkle nicely in the sunshine. Think they are too dark for a white car - think gunmetal would be dark enough as the background with siver fleck over, would look the dogs danglies on yours with the Amaltheas.

I agree. I'll throw more silver flek at it when I do my ameltheas so it'll look like gunmetal from a distance and be very 3D up close.

Not on a bloody slover I'm not ;)

No worries, I'll giv 'em the ol' Dale Winton treatment... so long as you don't ask me to put them back to a sensible colour after :D

Very nice looking job ,I think the David Dickinson colour would go down well with some members.
Works out at a lot lot less than £50 per wheel.
Great colour

RAOTFL :troutslap
Martin, I'm sorry but it is hillarious! If it's any consolation, I had a Smart Car for 2 years. Roughly a week after I got it, Jezza Clarkson was on Top Gear disclosing that it was the car most likely to be purchased by a gay person - so for 2 fekin years, I had to put up with "gay car" every bloody time I saw my mates!
Still, I saw an XC70 D5 AWD earlier and it made me think of you......

You mean you're not gay?
oh,
"Stand - down Tarquin, I was wrong..."
:D
Post 523382 by Wally Dog on 2012-07-13 00:31:36
Ha ha ha, but my brothers name is Torquil, not Tarquin - get it right!!
So, any progress on your wheels then? Having those others on your car must have given you some time to do yours?? What will it be next - MRP pink, MRP orange or a spot of MRP turquoise??
Post 523405 by M-R-P on 2012-07-13 07:11:52
Luckily, I now have time to scrape up enough cash for the paint.
Possibly MRP gunmetal although I really like the sparkly black.
Post 523420 by V70 Graham on 2012-07-13 08:55:25
Just make sure they are still on the car Sunday, don't wanna get yours all muddy lol :D

Finally got some sunlight on the pegs, the 3D fleck is not as visible in the pic as I'd hoped (taken on my phone) but I think you can get the idea..

Look good, or they will when you see to the cracked centre cap, and paint the 'R' Atacama
Look good, or they will when you see to the cracked centre cap, and paint the 'R' Atacama
Been thinking about painting the R on ours Atacama. ;)
Post 524869 by M-R-P on 2012-07-17 10:45:19
I'm actually doing the R silver :)
And the center cap isn't mine so I'm not worried lol.
It's when you get bright sunlight on it and move past it it looks like a sort of hologram, where it looks about 2" deep (no I didn't put 2" of clear on it ;))
Been thinking about painting the R on ours Atacama. ;)
Need to pick up some more paint first.
