Oxford Meet Aug 26th

A few members have said they would be able to get to a meet if organised in the Oxford area, now maybe I'm being a bit optimistic, but looking at the map it seems that Oxford is pretty central to quite a few areas, certainly within an hour/hour and a half of Birmingham/Midlands, Portsmouth/Poole  London/Essex and Northampton, and hopefully we can get quite a few cars to attend. Now I don't really know the Oxford area that well, I know they don't have a 'Fayre & Square' pub as thats where we tend to meet up, so does anyone have any suggestions at to a suitable meeting place ? This is purely going out as a 'feeler' to see how many members would be interested, a list can be started nearer the time.

I would be up for an Oxford area meet...there is a Brewers fayre type pub just off the A34 at Abingdon http://www.brewersfayre.co.uk/beefeater/restaurants/oxford/ock-mill/find-us.html

Would love to. Just need to see if I will be available :-)

Yeah I'm up for a meet somewhere in oxford, sturdys castle allow the oxfordshire avo chaps to hold a meet there each month so could be worth a punt, the car park isn't that big though. There is plenty of large car parks around that are usually half empty so more than enough room for 30 odd volvo's if needed.

Rachel and I can do this, with 1 or maybe 2 Volvos.
Looks like we have a few to choose from, like to think we could get close to 30 odd cars !
30 odd cars would be quite a sight, not to mention the sound! Not many nice roads in oxfordshire which is disappointing.

The Tandem 193 Kennington Road, Kennington, Oxford, OX1 5PG Shall we say 1400 Feel free to add your names to the growing list, hopefully the possibles will turn into confirmed ones too

It does also depend when it is as it depends when I'm working and then I need to put some money aside for fuel etc. Mid October would be best for me, I'd have to work out my work rota for an exact date though. Hopefully the worst of my car issues will be sorted by then as well! I do fancy meeting you all and having a chat for real. Regards James
No worries James, would be good to meet you too, this meet's in 2 weeks on the 26th, hopefully if it catches on there's no reason we can't have another

With all these issues with the car at the moment I just won't have any spare cash to go roaming off to a meet up, as much as I'd like to. Besides, later in the year, my T5 will be in much better shape (hopefully) to make the journey.... If we can look at organising one in October then I've a much better chance of coming along, it would be nice to meet everyone. Regards James

Me and iancho are gonna be heading to the meet from the eynsham/long hanborough area if any other locals want to join us and make a mini convoy? Really cheeky to ask but does anyone have a code reader they could bring with them? My car has lost 3/4 boost, all of the pipes seemed fine when they were checked, turbo spins up fine with no rattles. Only used to N/A so have no clue as to all the electronics all over the shop and can only assume there's a fault somewhere that's not obvious without reading the codes.

When the car is on smooth roads nothing then on rough road clink clink as the rear goes over bumps. Drivers me mad. I have a four pack of beer to who ever can figure the damn thing out as i have no idea and it passed an MOT with the rattle as well.

Resetting S/C/V service light... 1. Press and hold odometer reset button 2. Turn ignition switch to Run 3. After SRL flashes, release odometer reset button 4. Confirm by turning your Volvo off, then on again emm... Look to see if there's a bolt or lock bolt key rattling around by the spare wheel. That's what usually causes it. ;)

Nearly creamed myself when the red 855R and gul yellow 854 T5 pulled up, had our little 850 corner too haha. Cheers for making it happen guys, I might even clean the old girl for the next one lol.

Had fun today, new faces, old faces and a cracking selection of cars. Pics to follow later. Had an awesome view in my mirrors, heading the convoy up the A34. And my mpg when I got home...? 37 on the nose :)

Fab meet, was lovely seeing old n new faces. Sorry if I didn't speak to you. Bloody motorway users planting their cars upside down meant that us and Stewart (external error) went a rather scenic route to get home. The traffic was clearing in front of us once on the mway, may have been something to do with the two S60's they could see in their rear view mirrors. Nice ferrari even moved!!! Can't wait till trax next week! Hopefully the weather will be as nice and of course there will be CAKE.

It was good meeting you all today. I only popped to get some painkillers from garage and ended up at the JR, as mrs sister went into labour. Talk about good timing ay ;-) (excuse the chavvy exhaust but couldn't change it back to the old one as sawed it in half to fit in the boot) haha.
