Personally, I'd keep those wheels. A guy near me has an almost identicle car, but is kept spotless, even though it's his daily driver.
Bit of TLC there mate and she'll be lovely.
Welcome along.

Thanks mate, to be honest I like the wheels and will keep them but might get another set for when i get bored haha
The last owner didn't wanna sell it, but being unused for a few months its spot on. First thing is to either find a mint bumper or get this one sprayed!
Post 545545 by M-R-P on 2012-11-05 21:46:46
Personally, I'd have a go at the bumper myself. If it goes wrong, you've only lost 20 quid in paint.

lol his car has my old map lol, you cant compare like that mark, you need to see what yours is standard then compare it that way, there are massive differences between all standard t5 engines

I'll be bringing the standard ecu as well, so if I can run with both then we can see the difference.

It is so nice, and just different for a Volvo. I don't know how many people said to me in the time that I had that car that they'd never seen a Volvo in laser before. I just didn't like the auto at all.

Mine was the phase 2 with 250bhp as standard, but still auto/awd. The BSR map however took it upto 300'ish but I was going to take it to the Wakefield RR day to see what she was putting down, if I'd still had her.

So just to keep this updated, not upto standards of most on here, but it will get there.
With my other half moaning there were car parks in the dining room, i thought it was time to just chuck them on the car to safe the ear bashing.
Genuine Volvo strut brace, (coolant bottle has been changed, also the pipercross has been removed and a BSR filter now replaces it thanks to S70chris.)
Still need the fit the polyurethane top engine mount and tidy a few pipes.
If anyone has been reading the boost gauge thread about my problems with the car here's an update.
Basically Frankie worked he's magic on Saturday and its now gone from 2psi - 8-10psi, it wasn't just the gauge at fault, although he suspects the hose needs changing, but he also adjusted the actuator, swappedand changed a few things and its improved no end. Although there is still more to come. Car also needs an inter cooler pipe changing as the metal insert has been crushed so the pipe doesn't sit properly. I have a RIP kit being delivered so gonna fit that and go from there.
But it was alot slower than he's gold machine, so i was slightly annoyed driving home haha
Other than sorting the boost issue's out i have a RIP kit coming, rear strut brace thanks to "black beast"
Oh and as i had a couple of minutes spare, this happened:
Would just like to say thank you to Frankie for hes help saturday, S70chris and Black beast for the parts, and also Parts For Volvo's (Jamie) who despite many PM's and message's sorted out the parts i needed in double quick time, highly reccomended.
And before you ask he did give me a free present ;)
And if you're still reading, sorry to bore you haha

One more job
Post 574312 by sartain87 on 2013-02-16 18:34:58
RIP kit fitted, dump valve taken off
And now i have another boost leak, from one of the PCV pipes, hopefully get that sorted end of the month, gave the car a quick clean, but until its running right engine bay is staying dirty...
Sneak preview...
Post 583262 by sartain87 on 2013-03-11 19:41:51
So quiet abig update for those who are following this, this month has been expensive but worth it. Had the following done:
PCV kit all fitted
RIP kit fitted properly, bottom intercooler pipe wasn't seated properly
Cam seal was leaking oil (not seated properly)
Polybushed top engine mount fitted
Gear linkage bush replaced
Wheel bearing tightened properly (garage didnt do it properly after CV gaitor change)
Rear brace fitted, after parts for volvo sourced the correct bolts
And finally found the boost problem, due to a faulty TCV. Now boosting properly.
Now the car needs a wash, its dirty. Future plans are to sort the exhaust, have an angled flange and need a 3" downpipe to get one made.
Thanks to Frankie for all hes help and Tim Williams.

Post 583293 by sartain87 on 2013-03-11 20:19:14
It's honestly like day and night pal,
Now all she needs is suspension change/updating, polybush some more and wheels and tyres and I'd say I'm done til I get use to the way it drives.
