Steve (dalhousie) and myself have spent the a few days in Gothenberg visiting this fine city and the Volvo site. The whole trip was organized by Steve ( a big thanks ) for a total cost inc, flights, a central located hotel and taxi/bus of £170. The factory tour was very interesting but we could take any photo`s inside the factory :( apart from these taken outside in the carpark and lobby. Image Image After the factory we then got chauffeured to the crash centre in a XC90 :) after a guided tour of the crash centre we then where able to watch a crash test. To watch a crash test is mind blowing......... Here are some photo`s of the crash centre but not of the crash test. Image Image Image Then on to the museum, here are some of very many photo`s Image Image Image Image Image Image Steve managed to get the museums tech guy to open the bonnet on the gul and yes this 1994 854 T5R Gul has got a orginal RIP kit Image The excitment of seeing a orginal 854 t5r gul was to much and Steve had to have a lay down Image For more photo`s of the museum http://s1067.photobucket.com/albums/u433/oblark/Volvo%20factory%20and%20museum%20tour/?start=0

May still of been badged as a T-5R tho, mine's badged as a T-5 although as its an early one its officially a 850 Turbo. A friend of mines T-5R didn't have a RIP kit

Yep, shame I couldn't go, but I hope we do something like this in the future.. Always thought Volvo would move into 4cylinder engines for the emissions. I wonder if they may invest in the V8 for the power hungry?
