Yes, Nosh must be very happy and it was a very good example of what AET can do to your car.

Couple of questions, does any know if the 328 was a manual and if it had any mods?
And was the c30 T5 an auto? Only 3 whp more than the t4 yet is supposed to have 25bhp more.
Cheers.
Post 550418 by deathrider311271 on 2012-11-26 20:33:14
the BMW was a manual and the only mod was a 325 inlet manifold.
The C30 was going back to Volvo today to be sorted out, it wasnt boosting right and yes it was manual
Post 550420 by T5frankie on 2012-11-26 20:35:20
did i win highest torque figure then?

That explains them then.
The 328s whp was very close to a standard 328s bhp thats why i was asking, but the 325 inlet manifold is supposed give decent gains.
Cheers
Are you happy with your results? seems good whp for a 2.5t.

As i was expecting 150-160whp yes im very happy, but and its a very big but, the car now desperatly needs mapping and a larger turbo, so its booked in with them just after new year to have this work done, not cheap and it will be a hybrid turbo of some description, if it gets the power he said it would yesterday i will be over the moon and that will be it for this engine.

New turbos and custom mapping is never going to be cheap, but if it gets the power you want then it will be worth it.

I was very impressed with the professionalism of the place, the dyno operator refused to run my car past the missfire even though I gave him full permission to, for that he has my full respect.
Post 550444 by LiamT4 on 2012-11-26 21:11:24
I should go to a R/R sometime, see how much extra power, if any at all, my remap has given me. Although not having a proper figure from before the remap doesn't help.
Post 550446 by T5frankie on 2012-11-26 21:12:35
oh my god though hub dynos are so slow an hour nearly just for one car lol
Post 550454 by nosh on 2012-11-26 22:06:13
it was actually 7 hours for 11 cars & when you take into consideration the time the operator took to safety check for faults before the run & explain them.. everybody had at least 3/4 runs..
iv been to a few dynos & have never had that service anywhere :)

I am interested in Foamman's V70 R is it a standard car. It is showing 76bhp drag loss through the AWD

I realize that Frankie has answered you on this, but I sold my AWD a few weeks ago and now have an fwd manual, which only gave 0.4 bar of boost on the day.

Hopefully, around 6 months from now, we'll look at doing this again. I need to make sure that I have boost issue sorted for then.

Hello, I spoke to Volvo about it and they say its standard for the c30 to produce a graph like that, they say the steps in the graph is boost creep And it goes to just under 0.6 bar and then drops and creeps up to 0.62 bar which is the max which is why when it hits max boost at 6000rpm it backs off to save the turbo and gearbox etc. and it are 186whp which puts me 5th from last. And it still made 220hp at the fly wheel so its not lost any bhp yet. Always good to know! Lol

hi mate..
are you sure you've got that right 0.6 bar ????? thats extremely low for a T5 engine ??????
mine is 11.7 psi standard boost & yours is only boosting to about 8 psi which dosent seem right to me..
Post 552136 by LiamT4 on 2012-12-03 20:13:48
8-9psi is about the standard pressure that the "old" T5 engines boost to. Can't say on the later cars though.
8-9psi is about the standard pressure that the "old" T5 engines boost to. Can't say on the later cars though.
should be 11.7 to 13.3 psi
Post 552218 by MarkT5 on 2012-12-03 23:51:41
That's what the graph is saying. Shows it boosting to 0.62 bar at 6000 rpm. Will soon be changed though as its being mapped very soon. Should be done by jan 10th hopefully. Then it should be Norma. Having it mapped to around 260 ish.
Post 552220 by Nifton on 2012-12-03 23:57:10
Top afternoon meeting new buds and some very fetching numbers. Woody, hats off m8. Nice numbers there. Nosh, I think the jazzy paint gives you the advantage there ;)

So therefore it has a boost issue 0.62bar is 8.99psi, your car should be 11.7psi with an overboost of 13.3psi or 0.81bar to 0.92bar. Also 186whp in a manual equates to 205bhp roughly not 220bhp
Post 552244 by MarkT5 on 2012-12-04 07:44:58
Ye, rick at AET said that with the 15% loss or inaccuracies of the graph it will be around 210 Ish. He said that the graph shows it getting to around that so should be about right for the car as none of them make the actual amount of hp hey should do as standard when they come out the factory. Soon will be running 260 tho as a few mods are on the cards! ;)

0.6bar is awfully low. I've seen quite a few stock ST's on dyno's and most make 0.8 bar (no C30's admittedly)
