£1600 less tax bonus plus raises to be negotiated after xmas normally use the bonus to pay insurance in feb.

Why do you need a bonus when you get a wage or am i missing something?

It'll be a Xmas card with a thank you... My bonus is paid April/Oct.. Why a bonus? It is supposed to encourage the minions in a company to put that little bit of extra effort in to ensure the company they work for is as productive and as profitable as possible. After all it is not the bosses/salemen/accountants that actually do the leg work. If you have a team that turns up does their hours with minimal effort is what stagnates companies in to failure. In fact often employees see an established bonus scheme as a penalty system. If there is a bonus pot it is often a scoring system that looks at failures like sickness days, disaplinary and in our case, attention to detail in presented documentation in the scoring system. it then takes a 100% allowance and scores it to reduce the payments made. If executed correctly it should be used to reward those that do not take days off for a minor cold/duvet day, staff that have put that extra effort in to streamline a process or e.g. staff that provide batch documentation that limits batch failures(costing the company money) Allocation for each of my staff can be €4000/year.

The place is run by f****** muppets.
Yep, I've seen it done in many places. My previous employer had no regular payment bonus scheme, but randomly paid out incentives for key performance targets that were hit. This kept those that were keen on their game, hence I think why I think the company turned £0.5billion and eventually Siemens bought us..
Just Recived two weeks pay this week.so I think new exhaust is just about to turn up at work,to fit to the motor.
i got a new set of highlighter pens and a company branded cup
i was asked to work between xmas and new year...but i get double bubble plus an extra days holiday for everyday i work.....so next year ill have 33 days holiday :D
ill be getting two bonus' one contract bonus and one company bonus so about £600 i reckon better than a kick in the teeth

It's interesting to see the differences across our jobs, from nothing to a possible [COLOR=#333333]€[/COLOR]4000 to my favourite so far a set of highlighters and a company mug, it's the thought that counts. We used to get an attendance allowance, but that was dropped this year, but we will get a couple of bottles of wine and a meat voucher which you can chose what you would like from our local butcher, mine will be 8lb of top welsh beef for New Years day and we went out last week for a meal on the company. It was nice, but I'll miss the allowance as it was like an extra weeks pay when you could use it most.
Yeah, but ours isn't a Christmas bonus... Our Xmas bonus will be Zero.

I ain't grumpy about a bonus scheme, good luck if you get one and the company you work for can afford it.A lot of companies are struggling at present and can not afford any luxuries. Most people are lucky just to have a secure job ask Mr Osborne the peoples friend. Bring back the time and motion people and see how many would get any extras:duck:
ill get nothing. this year they made us work the jubalee. took away our radios and now have hd cameras watching us. and they wouldnt let us work xmas eve so could have a extra days holiday to use in sumer. now they wonder why no onecwill work the wkd befor xmas inc xmas eve

Nowt here either, we also don't get sick pay and any bank holidays etc are taken off our statutory holiday entitlement. Haven't had a pay rise for at least five years mind you I haven't been there very long, only 12 years or so !....think I may be leaving soon !
we get feck all bonus, my boss is a tight bstard who makes nearly £2million profit after ALL expenses, the only thing he likes doing is taking money off us
