Today I got in my car an the heating wil only work on full blast? I had a fiddle (turned it on and off) and it worked again. I then left the car and when turning it on again it only works on full. Tried another fiddle am nothing so now I'm either freezing or sweating lol. Anyone ha the same problem? If so any ideas on how to fix it. Thanks

A hint as to what car you have would be a good start :)

Sounds like the Blower Motor Resister is knackered......all fan speeds dead apart from the highest setting.
Ignore that - sorry - read it as if it were the fan speed - not temp control.

Sorry lads lol it's a 99 v70 t5. And it is the blower speed that I'm on about lol. But before it worked again until I turned the car off and back on

From trauling through the forums, and online also speaking to my local volvo specialist. Seems as tho anthing thing to do with fan speed is the resister as mentioned above. There are threads on how to get to it and replace. Seems fiddly, but simple enough. Ive recently had probs with my fan blowers.... i found out that it was just the connecting wires were degrading .So i retirmmed and reconnected and its all good now. Good luck with it

DEF heater resistor - easy job. A few screws to remove the glove box. Just make sure you get the right one it depnds whether you have climate conmtrol or a/c
I have pics of both - i fyou need help PM me. It seems to be a common issue - I have replaced 2x in 100k miles
