Just read a story about an English bulldog in Great Harwood where we live that requires an operation to stop it going blind. I don't know the owners, but as dog lovers with nine of our own, I picked up the phone and made a contribution to the vet costs.
Less to spend on the car now, but hopefully I will see the dog after the op.

Exactly how I feel right now. The icing on the cake would be to see the dog after hopefully a successful op.

I think the obvious thing to do here is that you have one of my nine dogs. You have a choice of breeds from a yorkie upto a golden retriever. I can send pics!
Seriously, I have a Barjo dog cage for the back of the car, so that the dogs are totally enclosed and then there is no damage to my car. Cost a lot of money as well. I don't take all nine out at the same time cos the cage/car isn't big enough.
Post 558946 by MA'R'K on 2013-01-04 18:35:18
hehe...I kinda guessed you might have one of those. My client has 2 big boxers (brothers) and they have a habit of trashing cars...chewed their way through the loom of his Range Rover within 5min!! So he's now got those Barjo cages for them. I wish I could have a dog, but I'm away from home far to much to be fair to the animal! Maybe in a few years.

We are almost an animal sanctuary, and all paid for by yours truly. In total, 13 cats, 9 dogs, 3 ducks, 3 rabbits, 2 cockatiels, a budgie, 4 shubunkins and a guinea pig. Before the kids, I had 70 rescued rabbits and had more than the local RSPCA who I used to help out when they were full. Kept me out of trouble anyway.

TBH, I don't think even the neighbours know how many animals we have. Only 1 cat goes out as most are very old and don't even want to go out. The dogs bark a bit but nothing too bad and there are many others around us barking more.

You haven't been to Happy Chicks near you have you?
Post 558998 by stephenevans99 on 2013-01-04 20:11:19
lol....Happy Chicks. That's where I got the bloody things from. I'm back there tomorrow to order a 20ft x 8ft enclosed run. They currently have the run of the entire garden and they've literally destroyed everything - it's time they were incarcerated!!
I literally live 1/2 mile from Happy Chicks on the same road.

I have a massive white Aylesbury drake in my back garden that came from there. It was brilliant watching the woman running round the field trying to catch him. Unfortunately, his mate which who was a rescued mallard duck passed away 2 nights ago. She was at least 12. I have 2 other muscovy ducks, but he doesn't like them.

We've got 2 Blackrock, 2 Silver Sussex & 2 Blue Rangers. We still get 6 eggs guaranteed every day.
Would love to get rid of 'em after the mess they've made, but I couldn't see them being enclosed in a tiny run after we've given them so much freedom, that's why I'm getting the 20ft x 8ft walk in run.

That'll be a nice set up. I'd love to take a load of the rescued battery hens off them, but maybe one day I will. We had a nice lawn before the ducks, but now there is no grass whatsoever.

Now this sounds so familiar......lol
I'm certain Sarah from Happy Chicks told me that they rescue approx 20000 ex-battery hens every few months!!!

Post 559018 by foammanmark on 2013-01-04 20:45:52
LOL! That made me laugh. Our worst behaved dog is Heidi a golden retriever bitch, and she has seriously wrecked a lot of stuff ranging from shoes and slippers, to hoover attachments and brushes/shovels. She has made us really mad at times, but we still love her.
The thing at the moment is that my mrs puts my clean socks on a shelf in the bathroom, a cat knocks them off and Heidi runs off with them, so they have to go straight back in the wash.
