I currently have a standard chrome grill (the one with vertical bars which i dont like), no offence to anyone that likes chrome but i cant stand the stuff, so, what are my options for replacing the front grill? Are there any standard ones for the V/S/C 70 that look good maybe a honeycombe style, maybe the R version???, dont worry if its chrome cause it can be painted over. I also wouldnt mind it being debadged aswell but i could just take the badge off myself i suppose.

There are loads of options. You can get the aftermarket mesh with either chrome or dark surround - check out Vikings car. A variety of badges have been added to these. I liked the chrome... http://www.bigredvolvos.co.uk/images/rayannaJan2005/front.jpg You can buy the so-called egg crate grill - it fits all the 70 series cars. http://www.bigredvolvos.co.uk/images/C70_scotland/lochside.JPG You can spray paint the existing one - remove the slash if you wish like this... http://www.bigredvolvos.co.uk/images/southernBBQ/mouthy_blonde_front.jpg

I think i will also go for the ones off ebay, have sent the guy an email regarding the complete black grills, the same style as vikings, i think i will colour code the outer lip though.

Anyone sprayed the standard grill with the badges removed...if so what did you do about the slight indentation on the grill when you removed the badge, maybe it doesn't look bad when its painted black ? Colin

Colin[/QUOTE] I painted mine but trying to fill the indentations where the badged went looked an almost impossible job and when I mocked it up on the pc didn't actually look that good !, (might be 'cause mines dark grey and it just looked like a big hole) Thinking of making a jig to fit my router and seeing if I can take all the bars down to the level of the badges to give a recessed look to the grill.
