I wrote a brief howto on managing image attachments and resizing before bbuuuttttt like the person that just PM'd me I couldn't find it either. (It's in a thread about a new RWYB group http://www.vpcuk.org/forums/showthread.php?46079-New-group-for-rwyb/page2). To make it easier to find in future here it is. (Plus I've added a second way.) There are two ways of adding images to posts without the use 3rd party image hosting sites. First way This is probably the easiest and quickest way but for those that manage many attachment you may prefer the second way. Firstly click the icon that looks like an image: [ATTACH=CONFIG]20135[/ATTACH] If Uploading from a URL enter the web location of the image here. (If you do not own the pic please ensure you untick "Retrieve remote file and reference locally" [ATTACH=CONFIG]20136[/ATTACH] If you want to upload a file from your computer, select the "From Computer" tab, click "Select File" and navigate to the location of the file. Once done click Upload File. [ATTACH=CONFIG]20137[/ATTACH] Once your image appears on the editor, double click the image and you will see a box appear to adjust the image size. [ATTACH=CONFIG]20138[/ATTACH] [U] Second Way:[/U] This way may suit those that manage quite a lot of attachments but some may still prefer the First Way due to simplicity. Towards the bottom of every open thread there is a "Go Advanced" button. Click this to open the advanced editor. [ATTACH=CONFIG]20121[/ATTACH] Once the advanced editing page comes up, scroll down and click "Manage Attachments" [ATTACH=CONFIG]20122[/ATTACH] This brings up the Manage Attachments Manager. [ATTACH=CONFIG]20123[/ATTACH] First of all you may wish to create a folder to help manage your attachments. Right click on "Home" and select "Add Folder to Home". [ATTACH=CONFIG]20124[/ATTACH] Enter the name you wish to give the sub folder and press OK. [ATTACH=CONFIG]20125[/ATTACH] Find your new folder in the Folders list and select it. [ATTACH=CONFIG]20126[/ATTACH] Once you're within your selected folder click "Add Files". [ATTACH=CONFIG]20127[/ATTACH] This brings up the attachment upload window. Click "Select Files". [ATTACH=CONFIG]20128[/ATTACH] The next image will look different depending on the operating system you are running. Basically select the files you wish to upload. (You should be able to select multiple files holding the CTRL key whilst selecting with your mouse). [ATTACH=CONFIG]20129[/ATTACH] Once you have selected your files click "Upload Files" [ATTACH=CONFIG]20130[/ATTACH] Once your files have uploaded you will find by default they are placed into the Attachments area at the bottom and have been ticked. Click "Insert Inline" and "Done" will add these images to your post. [ATTACH=CONFIG]20131[/ATTACH] As many of you have noticed the default is to add a thumbnail. Double click on the first picture. (And repeat this afterwards for all other pictures). [ATTACH=CONFIG]20132[/ATTACH] The image settings dialogue box should appear, select the desired alignment and size (all the images in this howto were set to large), if you also wish add a title and description. Once done click "OK". [ATTACH=CONFIG]20133[/ATTACH] You will be returned to the post edit window, complete you post/thread and submit. [ATTACH=CONFIG]20134[/ATTACH] Third Way I know I said there were only two ways but there is technically a third. If you are looking to upload a lot of images on the same topic you may find creating an Album within the gallery is the best course of action. (Build thread, meet etc etc). Once you have created the Album and uploaded images you will find each image has a BBCode. Copy and Paste this BBCode into your post to show the picture. Hope the above helps.
