Found out about and booked these guys to come and refurbish my alloys to Anthracite at work next Tuesday... http://www.wickedwheels.co.uk/ and not really any more expensive than other wheel refurb places. Hope they do a good job!

You want "light anthractice" which is the silver one standard on Volvos. Anthricite these guys do is darker and doesn't suite some cars.

Ummm... The guy I spoke to told me that all the local Volvo dealers use them not that, that means much. The convenience is the main reason I decided to use them. I actually want a darker anthracite not the standard silver, so maybe their 'Anthracite' might be o.k.

Let me know how you get on with them and I might use them too.......have they quoted you a price yet?
Let me know how you get on with them and I might use them too.......have they quoted you a price yet?
Charged me 65 quid a wheel.

Post 49248 by grumpybob on 2005-10-12 18:06:01

65 quid a wheel!! :jaw: is that the going rate in your area?? Got 4 Canisto 17s blasted, powder coated and lacquered for 100 & vat.

Post 49250 by Unknown on 2005-10-12 18:07:45

45/50 quid usually but don't forget they come to you so that tends to be a premium. If you got 4 done for £117.50 tell me the hell where from :)

And in this pic you can see the difference between the two colours
And in this pic you can see the difference between the two colours
Twins - nice picture - are they both yours?

Post 49262 by Simon on 2005-10-12 18:23:19

They said between £55 and £60 per wheel plus VAT. That is about £50 more in total than the best quote I got elsewhere but with the other place you have to leave the car there for a few days and it'a about a 100 mile round trip as well. A lot less hassle for not much more money. I prefer the lighter colour I think!
Twins - nice picture - are they both yours?
They were both mine, but my wife didnt like having two, she said it was like company branded cars and was embarressed with in the driveway!!!!!! I only have the one with the dark wheels and tints now, the other one went a couple of months ago...

Had my V70R wheels blasted, prepped & powder coated at a place called Batchglow in Rotherham, £100 all in for bare wheels, and they looked mint. www.batchglow.co.uk Darren
