I would like to now where is the best place as about for a remap on my non t5 2.4 turbo

Post 589206 by volvokid on 2013-03-27 13:14:00

There isn't any where up here that have half a clue about volvos. I got mine done when I went to mrg beside swindon. If you had jap stuff there are plenty of places.

Why dont you just get a map from a known volvo tuner

Post 589395 by Jimmie on 2013-03-27 21:07:59

Have they ever remapped your type of car. I phoned around up here once and none had done an R which begs the question are these people any good! Put a post on t5d5 and ask the question there as they should have a better idea if the ecutek map wallace are using is any good.

i tried wallace and several others with no luck, they said it was not worth the money to pay for all the stuff they would need to tackle volvos as not many volvo drivers tune anything!! since then i have spent a small fortune @Shark Performance and others ...
Haha if we ever meet you will have to see how it performs against the proper volvos :o
yeah, would be good to have some kind of local meet, most of them are a bit far away for me. at least i will spot yours, not many that colour up here! giving some thought to a bit of knockhill training this summer:rally_dri but i need to keep the car good for next year.

marct1980;Have you found a good dedicated volvo mechanic yet for your car?
marct1980;Have you found a good dedicated volvo mechanic yet for your car?
dedicated volvo mechanic? - Not really, i have a great local indy garage that will do just about anything i can't manage, SHARK for all the mapping needs etc, i prefer to stay away from the dealers as they have a big dislike to aftermarket parts on the car and love to wipe a remap when they get the chance! would probably use a VOLVO mech if there was a good one out there!!??!!

Care to share the details of this great mechanic?

Post 592536 by marct1980 on 2013-04-04 10:01:50

A.M Cars, in Findon, had a few jobs from them now, they fitted my coilovers for me, the rear roll bar and the rear adjustable camber arms, first MOT just the other week, thats just the volvo in the past year, taken all my other cars there as well never had a bad experience yet. In fact when i went for the MOT last week the guy "reminded" me that i still had not settled up for the rear arms £50 which was done almost a year ago! i told him he should have phoned me and he just laughed and said we knew you would be back, pay us when you have the cash.

Awsome I may give them a shout. A good mechanic seems hard to find up here
