After spending the weekend with one I'm of the opinion it's quite a strong contender!

It is a fantastic colour, especially for a Volvo. I remember there was one round the corner from me when they first came out, couldn't pass it without stopping to admire it lol. The reg on it was just "777" client forget that in a hurry
Sad to say that I will never be able to afford a mint example. Dream machine and then some!
Doh.................... Speachless
Thats the colour u see them in,looks great.
I'd love one but I'm not allowed a yellow car after my yellow colour concept golf gti. Lol We have 2 local cars, an 854 & 855 t5r. I love them.
noticed in the pic's that there's no motorsport logo infront of the t5r badge, was this a later addition and what was the difference, stunning car, lovely colour, just wish mine was mint, not worried that it's olive thought
Cracking cars, in what I consider to be a great colour for them.
very nice pictures
Awesome pics, looks just like mine, but cleaner. Lol
Cracking motor

I have loved the gull t5r since I was a kid but when I was looking for one I could only afford an olive green lol
Very nice example and very nice pics too but for me the P2 V70R in black gets my vote for best R. ****************************awaiting backlash*****************************
Lol martin you have sent them all in to silent rage! Tony.
Normally, I'd get lynched for a comment like that ;) Perhaps they've stopped taking me seriously because of the starlet...
Perhaps they've stopped taking me seriously because of the starlet...
I don't want to be the bearer of bad news.....but your sooooo right !
Nobody took me seriously any way :D
Very nice example and very nice pics too but for me the P2 V70R in black gets my vote for best R. ****************************awaiting backlash*****************************
With Atacama interior obviously. ;)
Very nice car, but that colours not for me. Give me red, green, black, grey everytime over that yellow. For me it just seem a bit washed out, when i was at mallory the other week and there was a yellow 968, i remember thinking at the time how much better it was than the t5-r yellow, it looked stunning.
lovely motor but yellow doesn't do it for me, as the wife often says 'once you've had black you never go back ! ' (not sure what she means by that but I guess it's because we have a black R)
Awesome pics, looks just like mine, but cleaner. Lol
Hey, I had a good look round your at York and it was a lovely car mate. Would love that in my drive....first one I've ever seen with that rare factory option of a rear mounted breast feeding station ;-)
Id have another Gul at a drop of a hat if i could afford one. As for black id rather a Metallic anthracite colour ;)

Our S60R's boot makes a good baby changing station.
Our S60R's boot makes a good baby changing station.
Would have thought the interior would have been best.....same colour as baby poo :P
Would have thought the interior would have been best.....same colour as baby poo :P
You've never changed a nappy have you Graham? Baby poo is definitely not orange.:P
You've never changed a nappy have you Graham? Baby poo is definitely not orange.:P
Comes close sometimes. Chicken tikka was a regular colour. It's when they start on proper solid food, now that's some nasty stuff!
Were was this pic taken if you don't mind me asking, as it looks familiar to me ?
In a lay by parking area just up from the little church in Buttermere in the Lake District.
Were was this pic taken if you don't mind me asking, as it looks familiar to me ?
That would be Buttermere https://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=buttermere&ll=54.541982,-3.274245&spn=0.000997,0.002106&hnear=Buttermere&gl=uk&t=h&z=19&layer=c&cbll=54.541877,-3.274327&panoid=6AzKQmC7zSZMxAAE4KrQ8A&cbp=12,352.03,,0,0
In a lay by parking area just up from the little church in Buttermere in the Lake District.
LOL beat me to it, I remember your 'spot the Volvo' pics :D
LOL beat me to it, I remember your 'spot the Volvo' pics :D
Good memory bomb that was years ago ! I can't even remember what I had for lunch yesterday !
I love my 854 Gul which I've just had 5 weeks now. Puts a big smile on my face everytime I drive her, although the mrs and kids hate her............but who cares what they think?
Why are yellow T5Rs called "gul"? Love the yellow ones but think the 850Rs are the ones to have in my opinion.
Think Gull Yellow is the name of the colour mate ;)
Think Gull Yellow is the name of the colour mate ;)
Ah i see.. Clever.. lol.
Love the yellow ones but think the 850Rs are the ones to have in my opinion.
The 850R might have a few more little tweaks, but it was just a normal production model like any 850. The T-5R was the only limited edition. Also with the Gul being the only unique colour on the T-5R range makes the one to have
Think Gull Yellow is the name of the colour mate ;)
Volvo never called it Gul,, this was a forum slang !! Its official name was crème yellow code 607
Volvo never called it Gul,, this was a forum slang !!
no, Gul is Swedish for yellow
no, Gul is Swedish for yellow
But Volvo never call the T-5R ,, gull Yellow,, only people on forums
But Volvo never call the T-5R ,, gull Yellow,, only people on forums
So????? Gul is swedish for yellow. Its just a description, if we simply put gul as the colour, then some people wouldn't get it, so people put gul yellow.
Just thought I'd add that I've now driven the car at the beginning of the thread.. Yes it does drive as well as it looks, a credit to the owner :)
