Very nice pics guys (you could have scraped the bugs off the gul tho lol) Martyn, I didn't realise how many extras and little touches you've got in that thing, I'm actually jealous and hang the running costs!
Mark - the gul looks superb (apart from the bugs) the colour looks a lot more solid than I usually see on the Gulls - shows how well the bodywork has been looked after.
Thanks for sharing :)

Haha his bugs will probably be welded onto the paint by the time he gets the chance to clean them off. Im just chuffed I got a seat in it today, I've never sat in one before.
I've done a few little things to it, I just never got round to posting the pictures, I was wanting to take photos of my LED's but i'm not good at night pictures. I have a couple bits on the body to get sorted then I will be happy with her, but they aren't screaming out at me to get done.... yet lol.

Did you go with the blue LEDs in the end (remembering my interior lighting thread from a year ago)
Post 614556 by volvokid on 2013-06-07 23:36:40
No they are all white I bought a led interior kit from the states, and I changed the front sides, side mirrors and number plate lights to the osram leds.

Lol tell me about it. It fell off last night and I couldn't find my double sided tape so I just put black silicone on it but when I was giving the engine a wipe down in a rush today I pushed it off and didn't notice it was wrong because I was in such a rush.

Clutch (23 spline) £212, Slave £87, Flywheel £370 + VAT, RMS+driveshaft seals+flywheel bolts (genuine Volvo)£69 +VAT + fluids and labor (I think I missed summat but you get the idea lol)
Post 614570 by volvokid on 2013-06-07 23:52:33
It doesn't take long to mount up. The clutch didn't slip once today though, when it does slip its only a tiny bit so it could go on like that for long enough.

Great pics, the V70R looks the dogs, as MRP said didn't realise you'd done the extra bits, the Gul looks great to, not as wishy washy as I remember them looking, 2 cars the owners can be proud of. :B_thumb:

It is I fitted one 2 dont notice the blind bit of difference with it. Did you have to cut some of your pannels behind the fog light grill to get the pipe to fit?

Yes the instructions do need to be looked at as the hole saw size they say you need is smaller than the air hose dia, work that out.
The main diffrance was in my wallet ,after I ordered a new pair of fog light grills, made even more diffrance.
But in running the car I did fit a pressure sensor to the air box to see what change it made ,which did make a big change as it was in vacuum before and after the vacuum had gone so it does make a diffrance.
So the ram air bit does work.
Post 614672 by volvokid on 2013-06-08 14:53:58
Ah ok I did have to use a bigger hole saw and I actually had to cut the ipd air scoop a bit too because I couldn't get it to fit in behind the grill no matter how much filling I did.. My car had the vented grills anyway so that saved a few pound.

Cheers Martin(MRP). You can just see the faded rear quarter on the offiside photo, but she's off to a bodyshop soon for a quote on the required work, which is also the bumpers and other little bits. Bloody bugs are a pain, but after 350 miles in Summer, to be expected. They will be washed off in the morning along with 10mm of dust that now covers the car.

It was good to meet you Volvokid, and cheers for the blast in your beautiful car. I told you on Friday that she definitely turned heads as I followed you through Aberdeen, and no wonder when you look at her. Great photos thanks, and I did see many Focus ST's in the NE of Scotland.
I'm now back down in England, and I must mention that Ian who married my cousin, did wear a kilt and late on showed everyone that he had nothing on underneath it. A true Scotsman..........

Definitely sticking with Gul, but I won't be doing much with her this year. After next Winter, I will start with a good service, then the bodywork and a few minor mods. See how she looks in 12 months...........
