Well another year has passed and another 3500miles has been clocked up on the R. Keith at K-Tech Automotive has given it a full service, took it for MOT and done a cam belt change. He checked all the bushes, the angle gear and other wear and tear parts and is happy with the condition of everything. The angle gear has a slight weep the same as its had for the last couple of years but the oil level in it is fine. And how much did this all cost? £534.90. Not a bad price. I reckon the Main Stealer would have charged double that!
Nice :) Don't K-Tech tune Renaults? http://www.k-tecracing.com/
Not this K-Tech http://www.k-techautomotive.co.uk/ I said to him if any bushes or any other small jobs need doing then go ahead. This proves he only does the work if it needs doing which is a nice refreshing change.
Or he knows how bloody hard Volvo bushes are to replace ;)
He should do, he was a Volvo tech before starting on his own. He does the jobs on our Volvos I can't /don't want to. I'd highly recommend him.

Don't volvo techs usually opt to replace the whole unit, rather than just the bush? Not trying to stir owt but if they find a knackered wishbone bush, they quote for a new wishbone (which is actually harder than doing the front bush in with the wishbone still on)

They were Adamant they have to change pollen filter with just 600 miles done in the year, When I said No off they Muttered away to themselves. Cam belt and aux belt was done bits cost was £125 both belts and tensioners Volvo parts. And fitting was £60. It's good when you find a garage that's better than most that won't try it on all time. It's always nice when you get a nice new MOT as well.
