Just thought I'd share this with you. One of our elderly customers has a 02 plate Jaguar X-type 2.0L that I think he believes is a rare E-type or similar rather than the Ford in drag that it really is. Every year he brings it in to us for an MOT, every year there is something new that we are not allowed to do ! He supplies us with two squares of carpet to place over the jack so that we don't scratch the bottom of the chassis when we jack it up and this year I got a fresh ticking off from him because I got into it wrong !. Basically I opened the door then made the huge mistake of PUTTING MY HAND ON THE WINDOW SURROUND as I got inside !. He called across to the tester 'Can you tell him not to hold the door on the black window surround as he will scratch it, if there are any marks on there you will be putting it right !'. Seriously, who am I F*CKIN WOLVERINE OR SOMETHING !. I know people can be protective of there vehicles but this fella is seriously OTT, what he doesn't realise is that because it's 4X4 we then have to drive it down the road to inertia test the brakes, he'd have kittens if he saw the black lines left on the tarmac after testing the handbrake !

im not too bothered when it comes to my tbh but I did have a moan when I had a clutch fitted to my last 850 and when I went to collect it found the fitter had used it to go get his chicken n chips from the shop!! plus he never took his overalls off or wash his hands.......needless to say, there was some drama ;)

When I first passed my test, we had a brand spankers Nissan Note with all the trimmings in pearl black. I learned very quickly that black was a pita to keep looking good. That's where I learned to polish/detail - keeping that bloody eurobox looking good (well, you would for £15k). I had just finished a half - day polishing session and driven to my mum's for a cuppa. My uncle started chatting to us and leant on the A-Pillar... "I've just polished that..." "Huh?" "I've just spent 4 hours polishing that, do you mind..!" "Looks nice" "get your arm off it now or I'll break it" "haha haha..." "one..." "what?" "two..." "Oh f-k OK, OK, stroppy git!" I'm not so bad with the volvo or the ricer. ;)

You mean your car actually goes into the garage for an MOT ? ;) I bet the guy with the Jag has kittens when shown the Corrosion Assessment Tool lol

Couldn't careless about the bodywork but I do like the mechanicals to be right and stick to genuine parts unless their silly prices.

I'm quite bad about what happens with mine....... :-S

I am so protective over mine, I hate it when it's out in the rain, it spends 80% of its life on charge in the garage with a cover on, it's cleaned weekly regardless if its been out or not and I try to only use genuine parts or factory spec bits, they give me so much grief at work as I'd rather use my Volvo than my company car. My wife hates it, so that's a bonus as she'll never drive it.
