Post 621476 by Biff on 2013-06-30 19:12:41

Oh baby... Quite surprised to see the toyota auris on it. Crap but I was one of the first people to see the prototype. Not a bad car, even though its not a Volvo. I wonder if its the new reasonably priced car..

Post 621479 by T5frankie on 2013-06-30 19:20:39

can't wait

Post 621500 by stribo on 2013-06-30 19:46:07

I reckon the reasonably priced car will be a Hyundai i30.

Post 621506 by V70 Graham on 2013-06-30 19:50:45
I reckon the reasonably priced car will be a Hyundai i30.
.....or a Starlet

Post 621514 by stribo on 2013-06-30 19:57:34
.....or a Starlet
It's a reasonably priced car, not piece of crap ;)

Post 621518 by Pinup_gal on 2013-06-30 20:02:12

Just seen that tosser Clarkson in my car *grrr*

Post 621532 by foammanmark on 2013-06-30 20:37:17

They certainly rated the Fiesta ST as a great car.

Post 621536 by Biff on 2013-06-30 20:40:02

I rate the mk7 fiesta. My mum had a 1.4tdi & it was a pocket rocket. I like that st.
I rate the mk7 fiesta. My mum had a 1.4tdi & it was a pocket rocket. I like that st.
What mk are we on now?

Post 621538 by Santa on 2013-06-30 20:43:40

Would have never guessed an Astra

Post 621550 by stribo on 2013-06-30 21:07:02
Would have never guessed an Astra
No, looks like they went for a piece of crap after all.

Post 621561 by p fandango on 2013-06-30 21:21:25
No, looks like they went for a piece of crap after all.
looks like this series is being funded by a couple of major manufactures to me

Post 621573 by Santa on 2013-06-30 21:30:28

Felt this episode is leading into a stronger series than the last

Post 621580 by graemewelch on 2013-06-30 21:37:27
They certainly rated the Fiesta ST as a great car.
ford have always has the best hot hatches or i should say best performance cars in 80 and 90's. they just got lost for a few years

Post 621581 by Biff on 2013-06-30 21:38:30
What mk are we on now?
8 I think but the 7 may of had a face lift. My mums was an 08 but wasn't a new model. The Astra is a strange choice. Be interested to see if they say when it breaks!

Post 621583 by Santa on 2013-06-30 21:40:19
ford have always has the best hot hatches or i should say best performance cars in 80 and 90's. they just got lost for a few years
If I were looking for that sort of car I would probably go for the Fiesta ST. Who are these hot hatches aimed at now. Most 17-20 year olds will no doubt find it difficult to insure such a car.

Post 621585 by Biff on 2013-06-30 21:42:16
ford have always has the best hot hatches or i should say best performance cars in 80 and 90's. they just got lost for a few years
Not agreeing there mate, I had a mk2 xr2 that was §§§§ until I lowered it. My xr3i cab was good fun (the women loved it) but slow. My rs turbos fell apart. I swore never to have ford but mums did make me rethink. I'd love a focus st someday.

Post 621591 by Pinup_gal on 2013-06-30 21:51:21

Still want an orange one lol

Post 621599 by Biff on 2013-06-30 21:59:34
Still want an orange one lol
I'd like a grey one, face lift with the dark headlights. Wedding & kids first though. Lol

My nova sr ate xr2's for fun. My gte was the best car I've owned.

Post 621615 by Wobbly Dave on 2013-06-30 22:21:49

very funny episode

Post 627636 by 850 T5s on 2013-07-21 21:23:48

Much better than previous weeks

Post 627695 by Biff on 2013-07-21 22:16:13

Was funny but lacking car features. That electric merc was a cracking colour though. Lol

Post 627697 by stribo on 2013-07-21 22:18:21

All is not lost if we have to go electric, it'll be possible to hoon it for 1/2 an hour in a car, then wait nearly a day for a recharge.

Post 627701 by oblark on 2013-07-21 22:21:31

I think top gear is getting a bit long in the tooth and needs to be replaced with a more interesting programme.

Post 627702 by stribo on 2013-07-21 22:22:22
I think top gear is getting a bit long in the tooth and needs to be replaced with a more interesting programme.
Or, don't watch it. ;)
I think top gear is getting a bit long in the tooth and needs to be replaced with a more interesting programme.
i agree mate, its become boring. you can predict whats going to happen befor it happens.

Post 627713 by stribo on 2013-07-21 22:43:14

And yet you still watch it. :slap:

Post 627714 by stribo on 2013-07-21 22:45:07
My mate works on the rigs. He argues till he's blue in the face that oil won't run out so hopefully that day won't come.
There is only a finite amount of oil, though it won't run out in our lifetime. :D They can produce synthetic fuels now anyway, so we'll never have to lose the sound of a decent engine at full chat. :D

Post 629587 by LiamT4 on 2013-07-27 13:25:50

Having just watched last sundays episode, am i the only one that thought the reason that the electric merc beat the petrol version, in that short drag race, was because it got off the line better due to it having awd?

Post 632462 by p fandango on 2013-08-04 18:08:47

less than 2hrs till the last one of the series
