Well took old goldie out for a good stroll and took some pics with my friends Mk3 Golf, also found a few faults too, typical lol Here are the pics: Image Image Image Image Image Anyway faults found so far The lower arm is well and truly fubar!! I think front droplinks are on their way too Swipes to the left on bumps so either back shocks or trailing arm bushes.. guessing shocks due to having a tow bar Whistling/rattling noise coming from passenger side at speed, like when the door is open or window Thats about it so plans are: Meyle droplinks, ball joints and lower engine mount Polybush the lower arms Clean out the egr and pipework check for ££££ed vac lines etc and replace if needed Bloody good detail lol Refurb alloys Thats to start :) Quite liking this goldie lol

Parts finally arrived.. **** service from an ebay member who sent the items out yesterday... the day they were suppose to be delivered and after a question asking for tracking details.... funny that lol Image Just gotta wait for a bit better weather to get them all fitted, what i have there is: Rear Shocks Front & Rear Droplinks Lower Engine Mount Front Balljoints and Polybushes

Post 632968 by daza-b on 2013-08-06 18:25:15

Well yesterday I started to get the lower control arms off ready to change the balljoints and polybush... but came along some tacky welding, which i showed to Mr Ears over Skype and it got me really really concerned, it was was around where the the hub connects the strut, and also the bottom of the strut looked slightly damaged, so this going with the burn mark i found have come to the conclusion the car has been rebounded off a kerb at some point So after a good think i have now ordered the following bits: Meyle HD gas front shocks Meyle HD Tie rod and track rod ends 35mm Lowering springs And also polybushes for the engine bar So having finally got a Volvo its now off road up on axle stands for a few days while i await more parts... back into the BMW i go again lol Will update when the new bits come... again lol Lets hope this solves all the suspension issues

Wow its been a while since i posted on this but had to change the discs and pads today so got myself some mintex discs and pads all round at my trade price lol Here you go: Image Image Image Really nice easy job to do on it and also adjusted the handbrake so happy all round :)

Post 633000 by daza-b on 2013-08-06 18:49:34

Been a while since i posted on this, only progress i can give on this is I have stopped it sounding like Darth Vader with a cold bu taking off the cone filter and refitting a standard air box and to be honest it sounds much better and even think it pulls a little better or smoother Also ordered a new intercooler to arrive early next week so will be making it just that bit better, while I have the bumper off and intercooler going to check all the intercooler pipes and also look at the A/C so I can get cold lol Then after that its getting the wheels done in gloss black and sort the little niggly problems with it Stay tuned :)

Post 633004 by daza-b on 2013-08-06 18:50:48

Intercooler all done, 1hr 10mins to change over, not that bad a job to do Response is much better and feels smoother, dead spot at 2700 rpm has gone, another job well done Sorry no pics just did not have the time So this is where I am upto at present, looking around for a bumper without the wiper holes, new passenger door and a few other bits, going through a rough patch with things at the mo so the next update may be a while :) Thanks for reading folks and stay tuned Daz
that should feel nice on the road daza
Yea it feels really tight apart from the rear end now, day after i put it up for sale for sale one of the rear trailing arm bushes went so withdrew it from selling and going to look at polybushing the rear end so putting even more £££ aint gonna be worth selling and loosing even more money than what I would selling it now :)
