I haven't got a clue when it comes to using Excel on my Mac and would appreciate any help anyone can give.
The spreadsheet I have created only has 4 columns - I need to keep track of payments made on a loan to a family member.
Date - Payment Amount - Total Payment - Outstanding Balance
I'd like it so I could enter this months Date along with the Payment Amount and then the Total Payment and Oustanding Balance would be automatically calculated.
Seems simple and probably is - but I can't get my head around the formulas etc etc........ :(
Please could I email the Excel file to someone who could work their magic and then send it back done.
Cheers,
Steve

Steve - there's loads of help online. It can depend on where you want to start.
Column 1 for the date
1. enter the first month.
2. then below enter the next month
3. Select both cells
4. Look for a little black box on the lower right corner.
5. Select it and drag down. Magically you'll see as many dates as you want.
Column 2
I am guessing this will be your editable field so we'll leave that one
Column 3
Introduce the amasing world of the $ symbol(if you are using column C)
Use formula =sum($C$2:$C2) - anything with a $ sign will be fixed however the last number should increment as you copy and paste down your table.
Column 4
You'll need a cell with the total starting figure.
Then it'll just be = $starting figure cell - "total paid cell"
Remember the $ symbols for the starting figure.
All the above looks crazy, but it is the best I can do whilst sitting in the pub.
