Post 635464 by volvokid on 2013-08-14 22:40:12

Hey Martyn, I have resurrected my login. Good pics! I drove passed you snoozing and did a double take at your car, there aren't many of them around. Just had to turn back and park behind you. Glad you didn't sleep too long! lol.

Cheers M-R-P I don't know where the time has gone!

Post 635499 by M-R-P on 2013-08-14 23:18:22

Martyn was telling me about your car (s) earlier. I'm surprised you're not on the forums more :)

Post 635503 by volvokid on 2013-08-14 23:21:32

That second picture just makes my car look dull and boring next to yours...

Post 635504 by M-R-P on 2013-08-14 23:22:46

You do have some serious bug damage on yours Martyn, but there's no way a toothpaste-green volvo can look "dull and boring"
Ah, wondered why it was quiet around here LOL
Give me a chance, there's a 30 second post limit! I'm posting for two ya know...!

Post 635509 by volvokid on 2013-08-14 23:25:28

It is riddled with bugs after that drive and to think it was cleanish before that!!! I did get up at 7 am and give it a hoover so it was presentable for the blind bat today, not that it made any difference.

Post 635513 by AndysR on 2013-08-14 23:35:31

Love it, not often you come across other enthusiasts out and about these days, must confess the Phase 2's are growing on me by the day and pictures like these don' help... :)

Post 635515 by copie22 on 2013-08-14 23:38:22

Post 635532 by derek watson on 2013-08-15 00:05:12

Post 635534 by derek watson on 2013-08-15 00:07:45

"Dull and Boring" aye right! Sometimes wish I had kept my previous flash green one. That's a cracking car you have! :-)

Post 635539 by y2blade on 2013-08-15 00:13:02

Great to have you back on the forum Derek. Lovely car you have there.

Post 635565 by Biff on 2013-08-15 06:42:24

Welcome Derek, lovely car you have but Martin I don't know what your on about, your peppermint pleasure is absolutely stunning! Wish I had other local Volvo heads around me, I'm considered "special" by my mates. :(

Post 635600 by Wobbly Dave on 2013-08-15 10:28:44

Out dogging again LOL? Welcome back Derek - I am still here - I never left.

Post 635603 by JamesT5 on 2013-08-15 10:37:06

Good job you fell asleep in a lay-by. If you'd fallen asleep on the hard shoulder you would have had another V70 behind you....... Image Note the above is actually a T6 AWD and not a D5 - it has 'Unleaded' written above the petrol cap... ;) :B_thumb:

Post 635685 by The Flying Moose on 2013-08-15 17:23:15

An absolute cracking pair of cars, quite a rare sight to see two V70R's together... certainly alot less common I find that the S60R today. Looks a lovely area and house too, whomever the car and house belongs to has my admiration.

Post 635697 by foammanmark on 2013-08-15 18:09:12

Martyn, you need to be careful. Meeting an English guy in Makro's car park and a Scottish guy in a lay-by, people are going to start talking. BTW, enjoy the football last night? Both cars looking great, and remember that sonic R has now gone upto Edinburgh if you're ever passing there.

The more I look at that first picture the more I think, mmm a Phase 2 V70R... can I justify the fuel cost? I'm swaying towards yes! Hopefully by the end of the year I might just have enough to bite the bullet and make the commitment.

He let me have a drive in his fantastic motor which was very kind of him. The wedding was a fantastic day, and the Scottish certainly know how to celebrate. Beautiful up there and some great roads for your R's from what I saw. Few too many speed cameras for my liking though.
