that big dent in the last pic should come out with some heat mate. bit of paint required but should see you right ;)
Yeah I'd agree with that, use a hot air gun and then push it back into place, you may need to hold it in place until it cools down again but it should retain its shape afterwards.

Post 645221 by c70geoff on 2013-09-19 00:02:55

Post 646838 by M-R-P on 2013-09-25 09:48:05

Bloody hell! I paid 20 quid for 400ml rattle can of 189.2 for my bumper :(

Post 646841 by partsforvolvos.com on 2013-09-25 09:50:39

sounds like £10 was the cost of the metal can mate .............

Post 646843 by M-R-P on 2013-09-25 09:56:45
sounds like £10 was the cost of the metal can mate .............
To be fair, the colour match is perfect and the coverage is superb. I managed two good coats on a P2 bumper with one can of the stuff. It also has the best spray pattern you'll ever see from a rattle can. I'll mop the bumper and polish it this weekend and post pics, you'll see what I mean ;)

Post 646856 by ajc106 on 2013-09-25 10:22:01

Post 647073 by Tomcat on 2013-09-25 22:13:02

Front bumper has three bolts per side located just below the headlights (behind the bumper obviously), also drill out the plastic rivets that secure the back edge of the bumper to the wheel arch liner.

Post 647077 by c70geoff on 2013-09-25 22:18:24

so take that as headlights out job

Post 647080 by Tomcat on 2013-09-25 22:22:59

Ummm...Lol.. can't remember.. Maybe.. Open the bonnet look under the headlights, if you cant see the bolts then it's a headlights out job..Sorry, slept since I did mine.

Post 647212 by partsforvolvos.com on 2013-09-26 13:29:04

lol, all i heard on the phone yesterday was "hello, psssssttttttt crackle crackle , i am spraying it at the minute ....... "

Post 647491 by c70geoff on 2013-09-27 17:33:51

right then the day came to get my arse in gear and fit this bumper so here goes firsty i removed the lights as i didnt want anything to foul whilst refitting new on ( its not necessary but i did) Image then the wiper if youve them Image now some are rivets but i was lucky to have torx in the wheel arches so gently remove Image then disconnect the fogs and temp sensor Image Image then underneath you will find 2 14mm bolts and bugger me sidways where they tight Image once they are out all you gotta do is gently tap the bumper towards you and hey presto its off Image

Post 647492 by c70geoff on 2013-09-27 17:37:31

refitting was basically a reverse of the above and very easy so here she is without grills Image and here she is with the grills Image Image Image Image all i can say is that im happy and liking my R design C70 look

Spot on mate, will look even better a bit lower with a splitter like we said. Reckon crystal lights & silver wheels would suit it best. It looks well finished. Is that a colour concept golf in the background? Memories! Lol, my dad still has a loft full of black & yellow leather seats.

Stick it on eBay in bits mate, the clocks are very limited. No other golfs had black pillar trim as standard inside so they can go for good money. The seats are the comfiest ever in my opinion but would look well out of place in my Volvo even if they were trimmed. Lol I just can't sell them as they may come in handy one day. Lol Sounds like you have all the right bits & ideas. Look forward to seeing the finished deal.

Post 699548 by c70geoff on 2014-03-31 00:14:49

Exactly like yours bud From what my guy said if it rubs a little it's a pass as the tester should be aware of said design flaw in car as they all get updates for such things Just need some cheap dials to rip apart now oh and some tint lol

Post 699560 by stribo on 2014-03-31 00:40:44

I was told it was O.K. for P2s to rub as there's a bulletin (can't think of the right name) for them, but P1s shouldn't rub at all. I'll have spacers fitted before this years M.O.T. ;)

Post 699563 by c70geoff on 2014-03-31 00:51:58

Maybe my guy looked the other way then lol

Post 699581 by M-R-P on 2014-03-31 08:20:31

I've had an advisory for rubbing on the P2 on every MOT I have. This year, the advisory said "Tyres close to contacting inner arches". As always, it's down to the perception of the regulations by the tester. I had an advisory about a slightly scattered beam pattern from the HIDs too :D "Service Bulletin" Steve ;)

Post 703527 by M-R-P on 2014-04-15 08:21:36
Only getting it to a point where it takes less time to do when that comes around Done right the first time there is less to do the next and next
Doesn't work for mine, working on building sites, mine gets covered in all sorts of crap, and needs a good going over when it is washed, but it spends a lot of its time dirty.

right this is starting to pee me off turbo went in the week so now i have replaced today so while the car was up on the ramps i thought i'd have a nosey around to see why my front coilovers where making such a racket only to find the the tophats on both side have no got elongated holes and also the bush on top under the nut on both sides has no life left in them......bugger just sent a lovely email to the manufacturer to complain and see where that gets me otherwise i gots to buy full kit again just for the fronts....booooo hiiiisssssssss or may purchase these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MK1-PillowBall-Camber-Kit-Plates-850-C70-S70-S80-V70-4-Coilover-Kits-Strut-Mount-/141281069904?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item20e5020b50 aside from that 02 sensor is on its was as is fuel filter and my rear bumper is almost complete just waiting for the rear mudflaps so they can be fitted and blended in

Post 711340 by stribo on 2014-05-13 06:58:28

Can't see why not mate, though the switches could be fun, as you'll have to take them apart to get to the LEDs.

Post 762341 by AAnickmac on 2015-03-05 21:11:12

Sounds like might be pump. Have you got correct grade oil. Too thin may cause light to flicker a bit with slightly worn pump. I hope it's something silly. Checked the wiring from switch? Not rubbed through anywhere has it.

Post 765108 by Wobbly Dave on 2015-03-24 12:35:25

I thought of getting a bigger one for mine - but TBH you don't need it. I have my oil temps measured and even at full chat with the GTX conversion - the temps were still in range.

Post 765113 by c70geoff on 2015-03-24 12:56:53

Believe it or not was the cheaper option

Post 765123 by Wobbly Dave on 2015-03-24 13:42:35

On reflection the risk is minimal of the oil being too cold - as this is a water based cooler - it can never get colder than the coolant - so if it was cheaper then fair play.

Thanks - I think the gap is a bit bigger than that, but I'll certainly check it out. Shortly before I got the car, someone fitted a second-hand window regulator in the door and I suspect it all needs some tweaking. Wouldn't Vaseline destroy rubber, being petroleum-based?
