As some of you may know this car ill start off by saying it was a pleasure dealing with a fellow member ANTZ who was very honest about the car and the transaction was one of the smoothest I have had :) So here you go guys, i now own "Project FUBAR" For those who dont know this project she is a 1995 850 T5, no a/c, no cruise, no rear electric windows, no electric seats, the best model in my eyes as I bet without all that its probably 100kgs lighter so a good start She has reached a healthy 199k just about to reach the 200k mark and still sweet as a nut Lots of plans to date so thought id share the progress with you :) So here is is, the day she arrived Image Image Image 1st thing to do was get a new battery on but the one i have is way to big so it will do for now, the next thing was wheels and tyres as the tyres that were on were FUBAR lol so i got the Thors off my S60 as the tyres are basically new and to be honest, quite like the look! Get a recon on them and they should look just right :) Image Image Image Image Got my blacking plate through for the new 16T turbo to go on Image Thats all for now folks, plenty more to come but will update when it happens :) Stay tuned

Sort of, but not as good as a proper lsd.

Post 643905 by daza-b on 2013-09-13 20:27:52

Managed to get a little done on Fubar earlier, not as much as I wanted but when you have bolts that have been on for 18 years... they dont want to come off in a rush lol So here is what i have been up too Image Image Image Image Image Image Image Just got the fronts to do but waiting on the polybush kit as its pointless on undoing everything twice! The suspension is settling nicely but too dark to get another pic, here is how it looks side on with the fronts not done Image Hate waiting for parts! haha Stay tuned folks

Not much of an update but few little bits arrived ready to put on but the weather being horrible and an ill mrs (again) :( cant really do much So start off with a massive thanks to Merc85 (Gav) for supplying my timing belt kit, water pump, fuel filter and aux belt for a bargain price!!! Image Then next a massive thanks to martybelfastt5 for sending out the wing, even tho royal mail was absolutely useless and lost it somehow! lol Image Next thanks is D5Kerry for making some fantastic stickers ready for completion, the circle moose for the wheels, the other moose are glow in the dark! haha could not resist Image Image Image Last but no least a huge HUGE thanks to paul240880 for sending out the new fuel pump housing which will sit the new walbro 255 pump in very soon :) Image Also received a 1.2 Kinugawa actuator, not very impressed with the customer service as it took 4 e-mails in which they said was out of stock without informing me until I asked and said tomorrow, 1 week later still nothing so again said was out of stock tomorrow again, paypal claim and 4 weeks for it to arrive but I got a free torch haha Image All in all the forums doing a good job and the members being as helpful as ever :) Will update again soon when the weather and the mrs are a bit better Stay tuned folks!!!

Image Image Image Image Thats all for now, tomorrows job will be to take the other ££££ed wing off and do the same on that side :) Little progress is some progress and when all the other parts turn up over the next 2 weeks its going to be massive progress :) Stay tuned folks!
Why are you spraying the inner wheel arches ?
Just for a piece of mind really, i can see a couple of rust parts and with the rust of the arch if I can get it so that the dirt etc to more "fall off" as such with paint and lacquer may help with the rusting in certain areas.... plus it will look nice before wing goes back on haha

That's come up really well! Make sure you don't lock any moisture into the panel when you paint it, especially the areas that have some surface corrosion as you will accelerate the corrosion process which will counteract your intensions.. I'd probably opt for waxoyl over paint as it's got corrosion inhibitors built in but it's your choice :)
