Hello mate and welcome. Looks like a nice example you picked up there.
Post 642674 by BoostWagon on 2013-09-09 14:51:23
It is indeed a very nice car, the seats are extremly comfy ;)
I have been looking at quite a few 940's before this one but most had there share of issues such as rust, engine issues, no mot (needing a lot of work to get it) or generally beaten up "work" estates.
Also a lot of 2.0 wentworths or the 2.3 automatic
So i am lucky with this one (and especially if you know what i paid for it :p with MoT till July and 3 months tax left)

I have been trying to buy an old ladies 940 turbo for past 3 years. She lives in shoreham. Its only got 34k from new. Very very good condition. She just won't paft with it.

Always stay close, you never know when the day comes that she will part with it. Old people are the best ones to buy from. The previous owner of mine was in his 60's and the others before him in the 70's. And they tend to look after cars very well (and have all the evidence and history "somewhere" in a draw ;) )

That looks like a nice car mate enjoy doing the upgrades you can get loads of bits for these.i would put it in the projects section mate when you start to play and the are very knowledgable peeps on here they can help .

Haha finally somebody noticed, the previous owners didn't but i know of 1 that does and that is my granddad in Norway (still has no problem showing the local roads faster then the youngsters ;) )
@smithy, good idea. Plenty of interesting plans for this one and help is never a bad thing. And if my posts can inspire others it's just a added bonus

Turning the boost up are we lol.
Post 654739 by BoostWagon on 2013-10-21 21:58:57
it's was quite a big hike for me since the car was a lpt (stock boost 0.3bar ish :p), 0.7 now. Can go to 12-14psi but want some bits done before that (air fuel ratio, injectors, exhaust, megasquirt/chip).
Plus it's alreasy sketchy enough driving in the wet like this :p, it's quite tailhappy for such a heavy car. The video was with a gearbox from a buddy in the back and a passenger btw >.<

Maybe ;) in all seriousness I'm shocked at the difference from stock, I've also done airbox mod and I've fitted a blanking plate. Holds .8 bar right throughout, it does well against modern hatches much to the disappointment of their owners :)

The cheap way is 3 in maf ,put a straight threw pipe instead of the power sapping back box and also take the cat out or race cat 100 cell .
Post 654745 by BoostWagon on 2013-10-21 22:08:45
I wouldn't bother with megasquirt at moment mate .the l.h 2.4 are a very good system up to 350 bhp then you would be looking at standalone .put a 3 in maf on it and that will let you run more boost too .i would stick a bigger turbo on it or run the 13c at 15 psi but keep things cool with a truck fmic.your car is faster than mine now lol
Hmm tempting haha. Well i got another FMIC (santa was early and dragged back a DO88 fmic with pipes). MAF hasn't come to mind yet, do any of the volvo's run a 3inch (t5 / 850r maybe?). Have been looking around for t5r turbo since it's a straight bolt on to the downpipe etc

Indeed that is the next one since the cat is restrictive as hell (and the current one is blowing a little )

What you are after is the early 94 t5 conical flange turbo .the is a 15g for sale on this forum might be worth a pm to see if it is conical.and if you cut around the maf and take the plastic pipe away you can put maf in a 3in pipe and bond it in.butmake sure you are careful.or get yourself a 960 maf with the ending number 012 .thats the maf that works on your car .

So this happened today, expect a project very very soon
Bennett Racing Drift Division
Bennett Racing are stoked to announce that we are creating a Bennett Racing Drift Division for 2014 and beyond.
Driving under the Bennett Racing banner will be Torsten in a 500+hp Volvo drift barge (with the full Bennett Racing treatment of course), looking to be light weight and very fast. But importantly a little different and not the norm.
We will be competing in the Retro Drift Challenge - The Fueltopia created Fueltopia Barrel Sprint (FBS) and of course The Gymkhana Grid and no doubt a yearly visit to Gatebil will be in order.
We already have new sponsors commited to this build and new ones in discussion, so please let me know if you'd like to get involved, this is a new venture for us and we will need your support. Big platform to get involved in! But a sure sign of our ambition of world domination

Hi and welcome. The car looks very clean and well kept.
It is very well kept, the interior will now be reused in someone else his car and the project will begin shortly (seperate thread).
On other news: This bad boy should do the trick (left is volvo 15G Turbo) right is a slightly larger KKK since the Holset might have some issues.
A lot needs to modified to make it fit but it will happen :)
