I`ve fitted a set of V70R seat to my 850 but the passenger seat will not electrically operate.
I`ve picked up a 12v supply from the drivers seat and that works OK.
On the supply pulg on the seat they are three wires, Red, black and orange. Red is live, black is earth what is the orange wire for ??
Could it be accessory live so they work with ignition off stick a meter on it
The passenger seat must be wired differently to an 850 anyway. The electric seats on both sides of my car work whether the ignition is off or on but on my brothers S70R only the drivers one will work until the ignition is switched on, and you can hear a relay activate under the seat when the ignition is switched on and off so my guess is the passenger side seat has both a supply and switched live....?
I`ve spent the afternoon surfing the net to find what the orange wire is for. Found on Volvospeed a good thread about fitting v70 seats in 850, the orange wire is a feed form the ignition. I`ve feed it fom the main feed to the seat and all works :)
