four c suspension

Hi All I needed some advice on options for replacing shock absorbers on my new car. having had it a few days I find out the reason why its handling like **** is because all the shock absorbers are gone. the car is a 56 plate s60 d5 se sport. as you can imagine, I had a minor myocardial infarction when ringing Volvo for prices, over £1000, my questions was as follows 1. can I replace the electronic shocks with standard ones and if so which are the best ones to use that don't trip any EML lights 2. if I have to get four c shocks, where is the cheapest place to buy them. I appreciate your help thanks in advance.

Hmmm... a sticky situation! I believe it's not possible to put standard shocks on there without considerable software updates. The shocks themselves can be bought for about half the price of the Volvo parts shop and are made by sachs iirc.

I've just been informed that you can in fact remove the shocks and simply fit a resistor to the electrical connections that would normally control the shocks :) Happy days.
