Euro CP quoted me approx. £8.00 per plug (2001 V70 T5) as apparently it uses the platinum versions. My question is - whilst I want to keep the car healthy, will using a cheaper/inferior plug really have a negative effect on the running/performance? Or is it impossible to buy the non-platinum versions for this car? What have you guys used? I don't know when they were last changed and wanted to make sure everything has been done. Thanks
I had cheap plugs in mine from the first week I got it (popped a coil pack and changed plugs to rule them out) It had 4 cheap ones and one really cheap one. 30,000 miles later, I changed them for genuine Volvo plugs and the car ran so much better I couldn't believe it. Volvo plugs are about 45 quid on fleabay I believe.
Stick with Volvo ones.....never had a problem with mine.

T5 plugs don't fit a "R" I think they are shorter thread length.
the S60R/V70R uses the same plugs as 2.0t B5204T5 part number 30751806 our price £49.79 inc vat and uk postage. also used on s40/v50/c30/c70ii T5 the diameter is different
You can`t beat the genuine Volvo plugs.
