I stumbled across this excellent forum a couple of days ago whilst doing some research.
Firstly, I'm not Swedish but thought the mother tongue of the marque to say hi might be appropriate.
I'm in west central Scotland and have owned a few Volvos in the past and driven more.
Previous have been;
1982 Red 240 DL Saloon (B21 2127cc with 3 speed auto)
1987 Dark Blue Metallic 740 GLE Estate (B230 2316cc with 4 speed auto)
1995 Red Metallic 960 3.0 24V Estate (B6304 with 4 speed auto)
Currently my wife runs a;
2001 Second Generation, Silver Metallic V70 T-5 (B5234 T3 2319cc with 5 speed manual)
which we bought back in '06. With me having owned Mercs, BM's and a few others to bad to mention up 'til now, tomorrow I catch the 05.47 to go and collect a pristine;
2005 Second Generation, Sapphire Black V70-R (B5254 T5 2521cc with a 5 speed auto ("Geartronic"))

Hence the research which brought me here.
Really looking forward to having my own T-5 and not having to plead with SWMBO for a blast in her T-5!!!!:duck:
With growing up around Volvos (both parents ran 144/244's in the '70's, they have been part of my life for the past 40+ years as my dad's first 144 was bought in 1973 when I was a 12 year old nipper. A Red 144 L saloon (B20 - carburetted engine with a 3 speed auto). First of the big wrap round indicators but pre "big bumper" models. I still remember the reg number; LHS 783L.
Anyway, as I said, really looking forward to owning a flagship Volvo again and once I've got her back I'll post the job sheet.
However, at the moment I'm looking to;
1) Fit the cherished plate when the paperwork is sorted.
2) Upgrade the bushing in the suspension and engine mounts etc so possible Powerflex visit on the cards.
3) Change the indicator bulbs (a la Harvey's mod) looks so much cleaner. (will probably do the T-5 as well)

As for the rest, I'll wait and get it back up the road first.
I'll get some pics up of both the T5's as soon as I have the R (cleaned and polished of course) as the only pic I have is of the wife's car is from when we picked it up from the dealers. She now has her "T5" reg on it but I couldn't post without some kind of picture.

Thanks for the welcome. Sadly not Atacama leather stribo, hard to find, although there is one for sale but with about twice the mileage of the one I'm picking up. Have had to accept the Gobi Sand. But I prefer that to the blue Nordkap option.

Many thanks to you all for the warm welcome.
I now have an immaculate R sitting on our driveway next to our long serving and loyal V70 T-5.
The drive home was a blassssst, (not quite literally due to the number of speed cameras), but what an engine note when releasing some more horse on the A69!!
As soon as I can get some pics taken in daylight I'll get them posted.
Update on the jobs list.
Osrams due for delivery on Thur/Fri (weekend job organised then).
New set of P7's came with the car (complete with stickers still on) so prior to them being fitted I'm going to get the Pegs re-worked with an anthracite finish.
Tints for all glass from B pillar back. (Have been given the name of a local guy who will fit the correct film to give the factory Volvo tint.
Load area protector as this area is immaculate and also the dog might have to go in it at some point.:-(
Service and cam belt change. Car has only just passed 57,000 but I'll feel more comfortable if it's done.
I'm sure that other tweeks (Exhaust system, Elevate Air Management unit, etc etc.) will come along later but this is a keeper car so will have pleanty of time.
Thanks again for the welcome and hopefully I'll be found lying around the Phase 2 Models section. If I get in anyone's way, just sweep me into a corner.
Cheers

Welcome to P2R ownership, if you like the noise now, try taking the soundproofing off the bonnet. ;)

Ha Ha Ha,:ices_rofl yes I read here that made a difference. Also might do it to stop me inter-cooler pipe from getting buffed to a shine.
