Hi guys, I would like to start thread with project of my C70 :)
Spec:
Volvo C70 2.3 T5

Already have change:
Engine Oil for Shell Helix Ultra 5W40 fully syn. and K&N Oil filter.
Bosch Platinium Sparks
K&N panel Air filter.
I need to get to STAGE 0 then i would like to go for DYNO run, and anyone of You know where i get go for DYNO around south Birmingham? I have seen someone make remap at HLM bromsgroove? Can any1 tell me some details, how much is cost a dyno with print out?
After DYNO if everything gonna be ok i will open my pocket for a wider mods like downpipe, cat back, RIP,silicone hoses, single mass flywheel from 850r, remap.
Post 663876 by M-R-P on 2013-11-26 09:56:21
Liking that grille mate.
I don't know how much a dyno would be but when you get it mapped there, you get before and after dyno runs. Give them a call mate (google HLM bromsgrove)
Post 663877 by Nealevo on 2013-11-26 10:00:31
Morning, HLM are a good bunch, i use them all the time and wouldnt take my car anywhere else.... (no i dont work for them) :) visit the website and all the details are there.
http://www.hlmtuning.co.uk/tuning.htm
some good deals to be had and cheap for dyno etc
Post 663878 by M-R-P on 2013-11-26 10:01:52
Or wait for someone less lazy than myself to post a link :)
Post 663879 by Nealevo on 2013-11-26 10:02:51
im not as quick on the keyboard as you... i have xbox to play...
Post 663880 by koperbart on 2013-11-26 10:05:17
Ohh yeah, forgot to say i DON'T like this grill :) I like black de-badged with wider mesh i think like in xc70 grill. And i would like to have a dyno before any modds, as i want to know i got STAGE 0 in around 240BHP then goin for mods
Post 663882 by M-R-P on 2013-11-26 10:09:27
Shame - I like that grille on there, some chrome projectors would set it off nicely.
Give HLM a call, I'm sure they'd be able to roll the car for you :)
Post 663885 by V70 Graham on 2013-11-26 10:27:05
Yup, that grill looks good.....dyno on its own should be around £30-£40
Post 663887 by koperbart on 2013-11-26 10:50:14

Same car same colour - I had 320 bhp out of it using a 19T. I am certain Hamish will be thrilled to have another C70 given that he's not seen mine in a while. LOL.
Post 664063 by koperbart on 2013-11-26 21:53:16
I'm sure of it as i have just 15.8miles to HLM :D

Hi Guys, vac hoses and clamps ordered.

Thanks :) So now i can say i get to STAGE 0. Thinking about DYNO at HLM in next 2 weeks :)
Now i need to solve some issues with steering rack , got some knocks on full lock. Rear suspension got slight knock when i reverse and new hand brake shoes because is catching only on one wheel.
And someone have for sale Forge Motorsport dump valve saying like "hardly used" for 30pound is worth it? With dump valve i will get that noise "pssss"?
Post 666099 by M-R-P on 2013-12-04 20:59:00
Coil packs = ME&, ME7 = No dump valve :(
Just fit a cone filter and take the soundproofing off the bonnet for that "Darth Vader with asthma" sound :)

Looks like all those coil packs have gone now - 'item ended'

Are they much of a job to fit?
Post 666507 by stribo on 2013-12-06 13:31:01
No, just take the cover off on the centre of the rocker box, unplug, there's one bolt holding each in, undo the bolt, pull old coilpack out, push new one in, bolt up, pplug back in, when all 5 are done replace cover. Job done.:D

Should have got a pre ME7 engined one then. ;) Fit a large cone filter, and remove the under bonnet sound insulation, you'll get to hear the recirc valve on yours then. ;)
Post 666676 by koperbart on 2013-12-06 20:47:51
Pre ME7 C70's it's hard to find good one. And if find it's too expensive. I paid 1100. after one week came back to trader, and said like " U said everything is allright with it, but is not, ETM is crap, need to be changed for 300pounds, i dont want it and take it back" he say so take 300 and ok? i agree but ETM is ok, just was need that coils :D I'm so happy with my Volvo, and tomorrow will take that soundproofing mat under bonnet :)

Hard to find one full stop, let alone a good one, I searched for a while for mine, and it was in no way a mint one, plenty needed, and still needs doing to it (mainly bodywork) but it was worth the effort, and 300+ mile round trip to get it. TBH the ME7 is perfectly fine, but has a few foibles the pre ME7 doesn't have, like the ETM. Un less you're trying to get it to Wobbly Dave's state of tune you won't have a problem.
In case you haven't seen these already, this is Wobbly Dave's project:
http://www.vpcuk.org/forums/showthread.php?26282-Silver-C70-T5-Manual-300BHP
Be warned he's been at it for a long time, so plenty of reading.
And mine:
http://www.vpcuk.org/forums/showthread.php?45817-Saffy-C70-T5-GT-work-in-progress
There are a couple of other C70s in the project section if you want ideas.
Post 666690 by rikcougar on 2013-12-06 21:12:59
ME7 is by far the best option if you are keeping it standard, fly by wire throttle is superb when it is working properly (mine always has so far)
After thrashing the Cosworth it is nice to get into something that is the total opposite, smooth and fast without the sensations that you get in the Cossie
The Cossie feels like it can kill you at any given moment, you know though that you are safe in the C70 and it is by far the most comfortable car I have ever owned
Must be getting old!

Not at all, the throttle mapping for a standard ME7 is set up for old folk, if you depress the throttle pedal by, say, 30% the throttle body won't open by 30%. Try a mapped ME7 Rik, if your's isn't, you'll see a noticeable change on throttle response alone.

You guys make me jealous, Stribo i got plenty of ideas :D I need just good examples ;) Thanks for that treads :)
I can show my vid which i made one week after bought it:

I just ordered braided brake lines, and what else is good to change for brakes improvement? Right now i can change that brake lines and brake fluid for ATE Super Blue Racing. Someone have used this fluid on volvo? I had it in my Megane before and i was impressed.
Post 666846 by stribo on 2013-12-07 09:18:15
Having watched the vid, filmed on private roads of course ;) your first mod should be to fit a manual gearbox.
Post 666910 by koperbart on 2013-12-07 14:48:06
How U notice i got automatic? It's a manual Stribo, i would never buy a car with automatic gearbox :)
Post 668000 by Wobbly Dave on 2013-12-10 18:24:54
Be careful when posting videos like this - police love this kind of thing.
I have been using the same ATE fluid as you for some time (reminds me I must check the state soon).
