Well done mate, thought you were sacking volvo off for another brand when fubar started being broke. Looks spot on that, right project! ;)

Post 666004 by T5frankie on 2013-12-04 14:04:53

why are you gonna keep this one but not the t5?

Post 666015 by daza-b on 2013-12-04 14:58:17

Basically always wanted and R but never thought id get one so both the t5s were getting cleaned up and sold to make way for the other car I wanted, but this camr up and could not say no lol

Post 666029 by cherry1809 on 2013-12-04 15:55:02

Good choice I think. I was looking at a teal a few years back that was for sale on the GTR forum (think it was the one that someone bought from here that had loads of trouble) I love the colour. I'm still bent out of shape about mine and don't know what to do with it :(

Post 666054 by MoleT-5R on 2013-12-04 17:59:17

looks nice Daz, glad you found one and are sticking with Volvo

Even in its 'dirty' stage, it looks great! Enjoy it :D

Post 666146 by Shinsplintz 101 on 2013-12-05 05:03:35

Nice car! For my money its a manual transmission every time - but if you've already got an auto box pragmatism might have to win the day just to get it out on the open road asap & stick a big grin on your face :)

Post 666206 by daza-b on 2013-12-05 11:53:56

Plans are manual conversion, prefer it to be an m59 with 850r clutch, may look into lightened flywheel while im at it, if I cant get an m59 ill use m56 with a quaife or gripper then its off to bodyshop to get minted up with its couple of imperfections :)

Post 666273 by Jim S70R on 2013-12-05 17:15:12

Glad to hear your happy with your purchase,it's a good looking car!! Sounds like you've got some nice plans laid out for her....

Post 666352 by oblark on 2013-12-05 20:32:47

That rear bumper is crying out for a twin outlet :)

Post 666356 by graemewelch on 2013-12-05 20:35:34

my 850 has the cut out for twins to.

Post 666362 by daza-b on 2013-12-05 20:52:00

i thought about it but tbh never really liked the twin exit, maybe on a t5 but an R wants the single outlet :)
i thought about it but tbh never really liked the twin exit, maybe on a t5 but an R wants the single outlet :)
funny cos i like them on v70r's but not 850r's

Having seen Oblarks dual exit at Ace cafe it does look nice on 850`s too

I can understand why you want an M59 but I'd be tempted just to get an M56 and fit a Quaife or Gripper then you can fit and forget ;) In terms of the car itself it looks lovely and appears to have been well cared for previously, do you know what's up with the autobox? Great to see you sticking with Volvo though :)

Post 667523 by kyboy on 2013-12-09 00:12:12

There was a teal R on eBay bout a year ago I nearly bidded on it but the owner kept pulling it at the last minute !!

Post 667536 by T5frankie on 2013-12-09 05:18:26

I've noticed manual 850r's never make it till the end of ebay auctions

Also when you fit your other autobox make sure you flush all the oil lines and cooler thoroughly to make sure you don't contaminate your replacement box ;)
