Just a car nut in general and a saloon/estate seeker. I drive a MGZT which is a keeper and a Rover 75 as my general run around. I have had a number of car but mainly MG/Rover. I like the idea of an older t5 estate or a newer s60r. Well thats enough for now I will have a peruse around the threads and in due time start asking a few questions.
Cheers Steve

Thanks for the information Steve. I was going to buy a MG ZT 260 and have the Rousch supercharger kit fitted before I bought the S60R. I figured as I was going to be using the car for commuting (about 500-600 miles a week at the time) the S60R would be cheaper to run.

Not the cheapest car to run but not that scary. There is a dreadnought conversion for sale right now on PH £8000. Servicing is not to bad but every 5/6k fuel 23mpg on daily and limited mileage insurance (me 50 years of age £260 isn p/a 5000miles). That all said I have a Rover 75 cdti for the daily stuff as stated earlier.
I had a look at the S60R handsome but holding there value better than I hoped for (buyer you see). I quite like the look of the old square jaw T5 cars there just something about them.
Next time I bring the V8 down to Newbury (work there) I could take a run over ?
Post 675939 by M-R-P on 2013-12-31 01:18:10
there's the option of the post 2005 T5 cars. They don't have the awd system but a simple remap will see it with 320 or more bhp and half the running costs of the R.
Post 675944 by M-R-P on 2013-12-31 01:33:07
that's the one mate. nice example too.

No the only S60 I have driven was a 2008 D5 I was quite impressed. I like a decent seat (Broke my back in a head-on 2003) and they were some of the best.

The D5 engines are a bit of a surprise when you first try one I take it it was a 185 bhp .
Should try to have a go in one T5 or a "R".
Post 675953 by SteveMiller on 2013-12-31 01:55:54
Yes 185bhp and made a nice noise for a Derv!

Sorry but.
Hi and welcome, missed the start of this thread.
Post 675955 by SteveMiller on 2013-12-31 02:01:41
No worries had a look in PH and Autotrader there not too many 2005-2006 T5 to go around. What is the tax on the post june 2006 cars. The MG has just been renewed at £470 I think, I do know I had had my pants pull down by George Osborne.
Post 675958 by Harvey on 2013-12-31 02:28:22
I think the tax changed in February or March 2006.
My car tax is £280 for the year on the "R"which is very late 2005 year car, I am sure the T5's are the same.
Not sure 2006 year on cars

My 2008 C70 T5 didn't have silly tax but the S60 may be different.
