Hey guys.
Registered this evening on the recommendation of T5frankie after running into him on FB.
My name is Chris, but everyone has called me Vard for the last ten years, so make it Vard.
25, living near Marlborough in Wiltshire, petrolhead and oddball, liking old Rovers and Volvos, having now made the transfer from one fast old barge to another, coming from 820 Vitesse after Vitesse to an 850R.
Wanted an 850 estate after seeing them when I was young in the BTCC, and who doesn't like the noise of an I5T? Probably a biased group to ask I guess.
Anyway, my friend Lloyd had a project 850R manual wag that he didn't have the time for, needing some minor mechanicals and a VIC as she'd had a nudge.
So I picked her up and ran her back onto the road, and I've been working on tidying her up slowly since.
And, with the newly repainted Amaltheas, which perhaps not everyone is gonna love as much as I do;
Nothing special on specs, yet.
Toyo T1-Rs,
V70 17" Amaltheas in BMW Ontario Gold Metallic,
V70 clear rear lights & side repeaters,
V70/S70/C70 emerald green door handles - second passenger inverted to de-lock driver's door,
5mm wheel spacers fitted to the fronts,
15mm hubcentric spacers fitted to the rear,
Monstrous 900CCA BMW 530D battery,
HKS cone filter,
Pro Sport height adjustble coilovers,
6000K HID kit,
Exhaust rear silencer deletion, straight through 2.5" replacement,
IPD silicon 8mm ignition leads,
H&R 5-10mm extended wheel bolts x10 on the front,
H&R 15mm extended wheel bolts x10 on the rear.
Next up is brakes, doing the 302mm V70R upgrade, already have caliper carriers.
She's got some niggly issues; not least that I've just done the PCV, yet I'm still getting oil blown out of the dipstick, which is infuriating to say least. She's also developed an occasional missfire, but that ought to be sorted by doing the plugs and coil.
Still, at 203,000 miles It'll have to be a pretty big issue for me not to forgive it.
Anyway, I'm rambling, I'll stop and go have a look around.
Vard.

Welcome mate! I like the wheels tbh they make a nice change. ;)
Fine selection of mods there mate, you forgot to mention if it's an auto or manual?
Also don't worry about the miles, mine had seen 225k in 2005. :)

Welcome to the forum mate.....
got a nice looking car there.
Don't have an 850 myself but sure I've read somewhere about change in the dip stick that had a double seal on it as single seal sometimes gives issues.

Welcome buddy, sorry about having to meet Frankie, lol
Post 677325 by Vard66 on 2014-01-04 18:39:29
Thanks for the welcomes guys!
@ Biff; manual, as Frankie says. Wouldn't have bought an auto, just can't be doing with them.
@flounder; Aye, I've not looked at replacing the o-rings on the stick.
I may already have been offered a remapped ECU by someone who shall remain nameless... :funkybana

Welcome to the fold, looks like a nice car. Gold wheels work quite well with the green bodywork and I've always liked the wheel style so no complaints here :)

Also, holy wow, 75 posts before you can use the classifieds? How do you stop people spamming like hell to reach that?

Also also, I can't seem to add to the Community Delivery Service forum, which seems odd?
I'm back and forth to and from London several times a week in a mostly empty van. Can't promise anything but if anyone needs something taking either way I may be able to help. It's often quite late is the catch, as I work installing and maintaining advertising signage so can't get on most sites until they're closed.

Never been to Stonehenge yet.
One guy. One guy who spammed to try to flog stuff? I don't. What? Stringent automatic filters? Magic? Ninja Moderators?
Post 677414 by Biff on 2014-01-04 21:50:44
One guy answered basically every thread with useless info nobody understood. He managed to upset 80% of regular users & got banned in the process. :)
You've heard about the ninja moderators eh? ;)

All of the above plus mutant fruit bats, sharks with laser beams and the "box of tricks"

Ah, no, now I see it. Santa. You guys have Santa. Nobody can beat Santa.
*Edit*
Though, as an afterthought, I'm pretty sure that counts as Magic.
