Couldn't wait any longer, even though I'm not actually picking it up until next week.
Needs putting together still, so going to be a proper project :D
Things on the shopping list still are;
Seats
Steering wheel
Bigger brakes
Water injection
Relocate battery to the boot
Polycarb windows
Source some better drive shafts

Oh, and a set of Volans in the not too distant future.
I have some poncy wheels lined up for general but the Volans will be daily's :)

Afaik it's down to 1100kg at present, and I'm looking at the glass next.

Well, all booked up :)
Car being picked up and delivered Sunday, and I'm off to Neath Saturday to get the other goodies.
Post 680258 by p fandango on 2014-01-14 15:20:10
are you going to weight the car yourself before you start any more work
Post 680273 by cherry1809 on 2014-01-14 16:12:15
Planned to :)
It has a standard T5 engine and box fitted, so I'll get it running and on the road as is for the minute.
We have a weighbridge at work so I'll get it up here to check weigh then see what else it can lose :D
It'll give me more time to do the engine right, plus it should still go well even if it just has an mbc for now.
Post 681707 by cherry1809 on 2014-01-19 16:53:14
Hahaha, this is going to be interesting... I won't bother getting it running a standard lump, not enough left.
Looks epic from inside out... I'll leave it there for a minute.

:worthless
:)
Post 681997 by cherry1809 on 2014-01-20 11:22:16
Only one quick pic I grabbed this morning (under a sheet at the minute) to show what's needed... add all brake lines to the list of wants as the abs has been ditched, and what's left has been left for dead...
I think the best thing would be to pull out the whole lot, see what I need and if this engine is good enough to go back in with the good bits.
Post 681999 by cherry1809 on 2014-01-20 11:28:57
Oh, and it already has flexi side windows with a slidey driver side that leaks, hahaha.
No ignition, no heater (I think) no side repeaters, no washer jets, gears not rigged up, hand brake not rigged up. List goes on.
But the roll cage is EPIC!
Plan is to get it near to this :)
Post 682026 by cherry1809 on 2014-01-20 14:06:44

New log book applied for (none supplied and plates gone... Minor panic for a bit as thought it'd lost all it's ID!) luckily the stamped numbers on the bulk head were still there... Why take them off? Mmmm :/
Post 700155 by cherry1809 on 2014-04-02 17:51:29
Okay, time for an update of sorts.
Keeping the car and going ahead with a lesser spec.
Sorted a base engine (thanks daza :) )
Fit the pistons and rods with new rings.
Fit intercooler and exhaust.
Source/buy a Turbo Tuner ecu (less than what I thought new)
Find suitable turbo/injectors
Find some alloys. Looking for either RHZW1's or some Alessio split rims. I know the look I want, just gotta piece it together.
Got some US spec front side lights sorted too :)
Post 702274 by cherry1809 on 2014-04-10 10:28:24

NTR.
Getting a bit pissed off waiting for this unit to be honest. I'll give it another few weeks and throw in the towel I think.
Post 720853 by Saaamon on 2014-06-25 10:43:37
Sounds like quite an interesting project. Having been down this road before with a Saxo I'd certainly sort a heater for demisting at least, without trim they tend to get abit damp in my experience and very cold!
Post 720932 by theflyingbrick on 2014-06-25 20:24:40
still no luck with a unit then?
Post 720940 by cherry1809 on 2014-06-25 20:58:58
No, and it's a PITA situation really. He's been at ours a year or so now, lovely bloke don't get me wrong. His trade is fabrication, and he's bloody good at it! He has a rich client he's done some work for that has offered to take on a unit, kit it out with everything he needs, and pay 12 months rent so he can get started. Trouble is, he's so tied up with working for us he's not got time to sort out his business. He's trying to keep everyone happy but I haven't seen the car in 5 months. Probably rotting away as it's outside :(
Post 720945 by theflyingbrick on 2014-06-25 21:07:25
oh man that's a real shame,i hope it gets sorted fairly quickly it would be gutting to see all that potential go to waste :(
Post 723974 by cherry1809 on 2014-07-13 12:58:30
