What's the practical under a grand thing then?
practical classic car magazine has a £999 performance shoot out / day sort of thing every year , it includes handling , drag and i think a bit of a track , they post up the results and pics every year , ive done 2 benidorm or bust runs in volvos , the last time i left it down there and now the people who run/organise cartegena race track use it for promos and racing ,doing it again this year but im going as part of the management and have been given a rover 620 to coax down there this is one of the vans that went down last year

£999 performance shootout? sweet! Mine was free and I don't think I've blown a grand on what you'd consider "performance" modifications :)
What's the practical under a grand thing then?
I was going to do it a few years ago, but our Volvos wouldn't have a chance.

Post 685045 by stribo on 2014-01-28 10:59:09

I didn't use the nationals, I used the autoroute/autovias.

Post 685053 by spikey50 on 2014-01-28 11:16:51

we do it in 4 days to include a bit of drinking time , this year its dover, poitiours , Zaragoza then Benidorm , sunday race track , I use to have a house nearer Murcia and after 20yrs of driving the lorry there and back I think I know the way now

doesnt come out too well on pics , fitted short shifter and raised gearstick , also put threads on stick to accept new knob coming from china this is deff going to be an antidote to the polishing brigade , if i get up some one nose with the bad paint job it will all of been worth it :ices_rofl
