Plus it would need balancing....
Best practice is to balance your turbo, mainly as it spins at 100,000,rpm.... however lots of people successfully run rebuilt turbos which have not been balanced. Depends whether you fancy taking the risk.

If you are buying a complete new core the whole thing is balanced as one upon rebuilding. If buying separate parts for the turbo they are all individually balanced!! The hotside impeller is already balanced on it`s shaft so when you fit the cold side balanced impeller it is still balanced as a whole. This is the reason some get away with it!......they are doing nothing wrong. A Quote from a supply company: "All our turbo parts are tested in our own builds and are run to destruction, we will not allow our companies name to be tarnished from poor quality turbo parts. We only source parts that meet iso standards at a minimum, and all parts are balanced individually and again as a rotating assembly (if purchasing complete units)"

Fair enough and TBH I did rebuild two turbos for my 850 which have had no problems and didn't go back together in exactly the same position.
