Only way to beat Dean is to turn up. LOL Camping & Running for what it's worth. I am quite happy with the same trophies namely by class, overall, fastest reaction & "the show & shine" competition. There is a part of me - that would quite happily sack off the class trophies and go for just the quickest Volvo on the day.

Quick up date been on the phone to York looks like the weekend im aiming for is the power fest weekend that's why there's live music/bands stunt shows trade stands etc but the fees are more for this day £30 gets you entrance and camping on the sat night then its £30 for the rwyb Please let me know what you think about it. Personally im happy to pay for it for the extra entertainment that's on but all depends on what other think Cheers

Hey colin its 30 quid for racing then theres entry but as a few of us are camping they said entry would be 30 which would cover camping so I suspect who isn't caming the cost for the entry would be about 25 quid on the day

Perhaps with the weather looking so poor it would be better to organise a annual camp out meet at Avon instead or as well when the weather looks better?

At the moment I am risking it on Sunday - but the heavy rain looks like it is staying put Saturday afternoon & whilst I love you all dearly - standing, cooking & camping in the rain is not really my idea of fun, so it may be an early start on Sunday, as it stands. Exhaust manifold has to come off & it is likely either the gasket is blown or the manifold has warped or cracked. With the amount of umph I am pushing - sticky back plastic/gaffer tape isn't gonna cut it really.

Wow awesome weekend last night was great had on rain shower and that was it we had pleanty of tukker and beer the bands were fantastic did the volvo club proud as usual being last ones up and at 2am being told to be a little quieter while we were cooking garlic bread and sausages. Sunday started off a little damp bit by 1pm the sun was out every one has had loads of runs and I mean loads 20+ at least all with good times. its been fantastic to see every one again and had such a good time with all you. piccys soon

brilliant day again and quite pleased with my results best was 15.3 as apposed to first run in the wet of 16.6. A bit of Deans pace i know but at least i know now what to change to try and get closer in the S70!!!!! James car sounds epic going up the strip. Well what a weekend, let me start by saying all those people that put their name on the list and didn't show you all missed out big time lol, I had 32 runs on the Saturday after about 3 o'clock the track was empty I could just drive to the start have a.run drive back round and go again, couple of times just against myself it was that quiet :), my race number was T195 if anyones interested, best today.was 14.1 yesterday 14.05, had a great evening Saturday with great company as usual, can't wait for the next one :) Car ran without issue and considering the abuse it had I'm chuffed, only issue is creaking top mounts now and they were brand new xc90 ones so going to have to have a rethink on that. Cheers all that camped and smithy for constantly telling me to cane the car harder, Dean for giving me something to chase and good to finally meet Mr deathrider311271 :)

Thanks to Pete and Donna for putting this event on and a great, evenings fun and entertainment was had with great company and the guy from Blurb really showed us how to wring this living daylights out of a guitar....amazing stuff. Draggin for me was a mixed bag of high's and low's and nearly lost a wheel, got the car slow getting quicker till the run after my best of the day a 14.7, clicked the boost up another 5 and great off the line, then a pop and it was standing off on any more than part throttle (fluffing), adjusted back but problem persisted, last 4-5 runs no better. Checked everything other at the end of the day, nothing visble, closed the spark gap up a tad and reset the actuator to just above standard and returned to the bcs. Car ran ok the next day so put the mbc back on and started to build it up run by run, which gave me a great run with Jimbo, only a cars length in it, car was still messing about mid range but would clear and go, on the way home as it got hotter the issue has got worse so thinking ignition related , pic's to follow shortly

I did forget to mention Mr fast (Dean faultless as normal) Colin and Deathrider (Simon if my memory is still working) thanks for the great racing, we may have been few in numbers ,but we left some impression, that the grandad cars are alot faster than most folks thought, had some great comments on how quick our big boxy Volvo's are.
