After the latest saga of a sale, why can't we have a guidlines that you must provide, price, mileage, age and photos of said item for sale,it isn't just a case of saying gearbox for sale GC,that isn't on and all sales should be paid by paypal(not personal payment plus fees added on) or cash on collection.
Remember another mans tat is another mans gold.

You can always post pictures of items you are selling, though understandably this is difficult if a car is being broken and parts are not yet removed, not a bad idea though.

At the top of all the Market Place forums you will see announcements, one of them is Market Place Rules and Guidelines.

i have read it on more than one occasion, why should someone try it on with someone, when 99% of us are open and have nothing to hide, most of us on here would like sellers to help sell their items,so what you are saying is use common sense against rogues,as other people are not allowed to derail the for sale thread.
That is awful and totally unprofessional,if you can't be up front and open with friends or fellow members who can you be honest with?
Rant off..

Santa,I think what he means if a member thinks there is something dodgy about the seller people are not allowed to print negative comments.
Correct me if i'm wrong but just my understanding about the issue.
Moderators often tread a very fine line.
Private internet sales can sometimes be very tricky ,that's why you are better to not trust anyone you don't know.imo

All i am is saying update the guidelines, with you must put an ad up with a picture, price, mileage, age and pay by a secured method.then everyone is covered.it's not that difficult, unless you think the guidelines are ok?
Otherwise all this keep under pm and keep things from others knowing helps, no one.

What if you don't know the mileage?
I have no idea what miles the gearbox/transfer box had covered in my v70r.

Then say not known, then the buyer can make their own mind up.
An advert saying "for sale gearbox £20,then you pm the seller and they don't reply to you..then you know something might be a miss.

I like it when folk say 'pay with Paypal as a GIFT'....some say this avoids fees - I say it prevents the money being refunded when there's an issue.

I'd rather not dictate more than is needed, I think we have the good balance of protection and flexibility at the moment. (Subject to change though but regardless thank you for your suggestions :) )

I would hope no one is doing this unless they have absolute trust in the other person and/or know them outside the forum.
