So as I have resigned myself to not being able to make March's rwyb at shakey, I thought that I'll try and make this one instead, not sure whether It'll be just the sunday or make a weekend of it

30th is just not happening for me - so I think a fortnight seems more plausible. Got to find out sooner rather than later if this new set up is going to produce results or expire in a large bang/cloud of smoke.

I need to qualify the noise from my gearbox, which is my main concern. Top pipe with the Tial T-piece is too unstable (twice it has popped off under load) To make the most of my set-up I need the RPM signal resolving with the Blitz SBC. I need to ensure the AFRs are up to the job. With only a few days to go it is looking increasingly doubtful that the C70 will be ready.
I am brassic at the moment,so i am afraid this is out for me as well.

Tempted to bring it up on a trailer hmmmmmm decisions
Well after the initial relief of confirming that my "gearbox" clonk as annoying as it is - has nothing to do with the transmission - I have been blown out of the water by the simplest spring mech on the car - namely the inertia reel seatbelt. On the way back from seeing the transmission specialist - feeling somewhat buoyed by the idea of racing - I dropped into Oakengates for a sandwich. Got back in and the seat belt (which recently has become very lazy on the rewind) wouldn't budge an inch. I just managed to do it up to get home and was fiddling with the belt to try to restore some movement. Which is duly did - it wound itself even further in then just jammed. I've had it apart this evening & well its a bit like me - old & a bit knackered. So unless someone has a spare that I can fit in the next 36 hours - that's it. Friday night 2 days before hand. So not even a chance of getting one sent. FFS! Did you get the feeling that Betsy just doesn't want to go? Wife is taking the other car with my daughter to her parents - so I can't even spectate unless someone gives me a lift.
Can you not take out the passenger one and swap over???
I looked at that option - and they are handed so no I don't think so. If they had been identical then I would have swapped them over.

Sounds like the car is telling you that it's time for some harnesses.
Hamish promised me a long time ago to make me a copy of the one he has that just plug into the rear seatbelt buckles.

well I have been scuppered by the seatbelt issue. A massive thanks to both Smithy and Jim for trying their damnest to get a spare in time, but I guess it was not meant to be. Best of luck tomorrow to everyone

Yep not a.good at shakey, queued for over an hour for my.4th run and no bloody timing boards so gave up and went home shame really as weather was spot on

yep 4 runs in 4 hours lol, not even that many cars there it just kept stopping for technical issues, and people moan about pod, which at least there you can get a good time, which is what we all want at the end of the day

He's just got to learn to get the power down, it will take some runs to get it right with all that torque
SBC is the way forward. Choose a lower boost to get off the line. At least that's what I am pinning my hopes on LOL ;)
Sorry i missed everyone yesturday, i saw James once when I was going to grab a cup of tea after that I was sat with some friends on the stand closest to the boards. Saw James's runs and although they weren't the greatest times the 2nd 1/8th's looked good so I think if he can get the launch sorted he will definatley be in the mix this season. Shame about all the stopping and delays, I enjoyed the day out but would of liked to see the twister run a few more times absolute beast that was, a bit red faced now as I caught the sun a bit and sorry for being a bit antisocial.
