Hello everyone. I'm Phill, I'm 30, Married, Little girl on the way. We own a computer servicing shop in a town between Manchester and Leeds. my wife and I have just bought our 4th Volvo. We had a p1 c30 2.00d r p2 s60 2.4D lux p1 v70 2.5 and now a 59 plate ex police v70 T6 AWD I got told that I might be able to get it on a rolling road to test its bhp if I came here as it has been sold as being mapped to over 320bhp but he told me it was there belief that the police map them but I would like to know so I can consider mapping it myself if it isn't.

Welcome aboard :) I believe you're the first P3 ex-plod owne. Now, from your description, I reckon you got your car from www.expolicecar.co.uk. They often say the P3 has been mapped but I'd be suspicious... These cars are around 305bhp from the factory and I know for a fact that no P2 cars were ever mapped from the factory but I've no idea about the P3 models. Didi you get much history with the car? Oh yeah... pictures please :)

Post 700202 by phillippilkington on 2014-04-02 20:39:48

Thanks for replying all! I can not supply pics yet as I do not receive the car for another week yet but I will do. I am still driving my p1 v70 at the mo. There are still pics here though if I am allowed to do links without getting shouted at. I just bout some dotz hanzo wheels for it if anyone wants to offer me something for those wheels. http://expolicecar.co.uk/stockdetail.asp?id=265 I get a printed service history from the plod (that sounds cooler than police somehow lol thanks nrp) but thats it, they dont know anything else than that. It looks quite spotless so the guys that drove it must have liked it.

It will be going straight on a ramp the minute I get it so I might as well do it then.

We have a computer shop (in the making, nearly open) in Hebden and live on that hill you come down though not on the main road so you wont see me there unless I'm in the Robin Hood lol

I dont know if to look at cages or a partition, dogs have more space with the latter but no damage to the car with the former.

There are no emissions on the v5 so nothing to judge the tax off. It depends per manufacturer too apparently, Volvo and someone else don't put it on. Apparently that's changed on the new police cars and they have to show the co2 so it wont be the case on the newer ones.
Hi Philip. What a coincidence, I bought my 940 from Expolicecar the other week, albeit a dented part-ex. I bet you enjoyed the windy roads on the way out of Sowerby bridge with all those ponies under your bonnet!
Actually I spent the first few days blowing on the accelerator to conserve fuel but I have sacked that and have been burning up the roads over the last few days, what a car!! My Volvo specialist mechanic got a bit of a hard on when I opened the bonnet, he has the d5 s80. Hows the 940? (sorry for the delay I missed the email!)

This is a reply to a private messsage but incase any body wondered about ex police car: Sorry mate just seen your message! I actually picked the car up on the Thursday, been having far to much fun to check the forum lol. They seem nice and the car seems sound as a pound, certainly very fun to drive, but not very honest. I knew that when I bought it though as anybody that says a 3.0 straight 6 twin turbo 4x4 does good mpg, is quite frankly full of ££££ lol but I did expect to find the tow bar and the cd changer they advertised it as having and I didn't expect to have to pull the car in bits to work out why only one speaker worked. I'm not upset though, the car is awesome and I have fallen in love with it. Looks great and I hope she goes well for you. I came through Hebden yesterday, but can't suss out where your shop is. I saw The Railway pub in the centre, so where r u from there joi? I think your car would look better with deep tints, and I'm having 2 cars done next week for £160 per car at EMPIRE TINTING, Milnrow. Seems a good deal to me, and I'm posting pics up after the work.

Aye up! Thanks mate, she is lovely, I have been in some fast cars but this just amazes me every time I press the throttle, real head turner too. I went past some road works, pressed the throttle down and they all stopped work to watch me pull away lol. I'm never sure about tints but i was wondering about it to hide the dog guards a but as they aren't the most attractive or sporty looking things. I need a dog guard, then I would like a new visor, new wipers, pipe tips, center cupboard blind and leather seats. It has been mapped btw, no way its standard. Ok, if your looking at the railway pub, turn left, through the lights and over the bridge, your now on market street, there are two boarded up shops on the right thanks to my completely sane hippy neighbor who thinks its ok to live upstairs and use downstairs as storage, then there is us. Were not quite open but we have a brand new shop front, blue with stained wood windows. Next to the love cafe and muse music, best place for a coffee there btw. Just finish off the flat and then we will be cleaning up downstairs and opening the shop, about a month I would have said.
Looks great and I hope she goes well for you.
