Been using the C70 as a daily, been going great came home Thursday night and parked up. Came out this morning and it turning over but refuses to fire.. Changed the antenna ring, found a snapped earth cable on engine so fixed that but no joy, seems immobiliser related as not getting spark ( changed out coil etc ) ....any ideas ?
It's a 98 C70 T5 GT
Could the ECU fail in some way ?

Is it M4.4, or ME7, can you hear the fuel pump priming?

As above, or the cam sensor ;)

Try reading the codes & see what it says

Ignorance here....where is crank or cam sensor ....can't get it running to get it to a garage for codes tho maybe just need to get it recovered to get it to a garage
Found the cam sensor..crank one to find now

is there no one local who can read them for you, because you really are wasting your time (& money) just replacing random sensors when the whole idea of having diagnostics is too stop the guess work

The cam sensor is on the end of the Exhaust camshaft,
The Crank Sensor is directly in the Top of the Bell Housing where the Box meets the Engine held in with One 10mm

i took this off to have a look and get ready to put another in i cant believe that this small disc with what looks like some bits from Maplins can stop the car in its tracks lol

put a volt meter across the cam sensor wires, if it oscillates between 0-5v while cranking it should be ok, can you feel the icv vibrating with ignition on?

Sorry I missed this thread, glad you got sorted.
For future reference, I have code readers to cover most Volvos and I'm not too far away.
